RARE ANTIQUE OLD LEADED SLAG STAINED GLASS HANDEL TIFFANY STYLE LAMP c. 1905
For your consideration is this absolutely large leaded floral lamp made by Handel. This company made very few leaded lamps and those that it did make are of super high quality and highly desirable. This one is absolutely beautiful…. The lamp is constructed with great glass that really fires up when lit. The huge 18.5 diameter shade consists of granite backed and regular glass arranged with a white floral pattern apron against a two-toned green petal background. Adding to the quality of the shade is the use of bent glass pieces which were much more difficult to do and required more time. The shade rests on a wonderful 2-socket “gooseneck” base with embossed base. This is one of Handel’s finest bases, is solid bronze (and not copper plated pot metal which most were), and has a prominent HANDEL tag leaded into the underside. The base stands an impressive 25 tall. Although unsigned, I have copied a page out of Paul Crist’s Mosaic Shades II book that shows a nearly identical shade with yellow flowers and the same dual colored green leaf background. The condition of the lamp is good. With minor cracks in the glass (to be expected on a shade as large as this), no repairs, and all original finish. The lamp has been wired with period style cord and an old period plug, and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you have been looking for a great example of Handel’s work, this is the one for you. Antique Slag Glass Lamp Base Art Deco Old Wiring Heat Cap Stained Painted Shade
Leaves and berries twine around this antique art deco lamp base. It’s large 22″ high to the top of the finial, with an 8″ base substantial enough for a significant slag, stained, or reverse painted glass shade. Unsigned, but the casting is of Royal, B & H, or Pairpoint quality. The old gold paint has mellowed to a lovely patina. A magnet DOES stick to it. There’s some oxidation (see pictures), but appears to be mostly surface. It has the heat cap, which is great, and the old cloth wiring. The fitter will accept a shade with a 3.25″ 4″ opening. This lamp base is a lovely antique. It needs to be re-wired, and there is some oxidation. Please look at the pictures, and ask for more. Right now, we’re also helping to downsize our parents (in their 90s). Sell things as we find them; we do not attempt to make repairs. However, right now, we rub everything with hand sanitizer before it goes out the door. We don’t ruin the patina, though. We try to describe items as accurately as possible. However, some things that we see as normal aging, others might see as a flaw or defect. Please look at the pictures — we’ll send you more if you’d like to see them. Here is a nice vintage Uranium Glass Art Deco Table lamp. It measures 21′ tall to the top of the finial. It is in good condition as you can see in the pics. It works, but the outer silk insulation shows wear, i would recommend rewiring if so desired. I have not cleaned/detailed it, it could us a light cleaning. ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU SLAG GLASS 8 Panel Lamp Intricate Original Filigree Design
Beautiful 8 ART NOUVEAU paneled Slag Glass Lamp. The Shade is in very nice condition with lots of color in this Glass. 8 CURVED Glass Panels in all. Each panel is approx 7 1/2 and the bottom rectangular piece is approx. 7 ” by 2 1/2″. All Glass is without crack or chips. The metal frame needs a small repair Weld (see Pics). The Shade measures approx. 19 inches across, o. Verall height is approx. The lamp base has a single socket with a pull chain with original wiring and in working order. Could use a good dusting and cleaning. Last 3 pics are from the underneath bottom base of the lamp. Maybe a date I do not know. Beautiful caramel swirl slag glass panels on the 8 curved glass top part, the bottom 8 glass pieces are straight and are of the color green with yellow and white swirl providing a super warm glow to any room. This lamps shade with 16 cut pieces of slag glass with the metal filigree overlay is rare as it is labor intense. The filigree overlay runs between the 8 caramel slag glass panels and over the 8 green, white, red and yellow swirl slag glass pieces on the bottom edge of shade.
