This item is part of a recently acquired private collection. We will list in a few next weeks-antique, vintage art glass, lamps & others!!! The item came from clean home where it was cared for and displayed for the enjoyment of others. Unseen before it is now offered for a quick sale. Please ask any questions! Leaded stained slag glass table lamp from famous Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau Era , circa end of 1890, s to an early 1900, s. Most popular and classic colors! In very good working order. Shade has 14″, lamp is 21″ tall. Probably it was oil lamp but later was converted in an electric lamp. Has very nice an original patina with around “frog skin” spots/oxidation. I was advised by Chicago famous repair leaded stained glass store/shop — those slag glass panels were made in special method / sanding glass panels/ and it is so an expensive in that time. All parts are original. As you could look on a last picture from abook by Paul Crist “Mosaic Shades, Volume II” , page 78 very similar lamps to mine. This stunning lamp has been in the attic for many many years. I attempted to clean it but gave up because I have too much arthritis to do all that intricate work…. It needs also to be rewired as the wiring looks very old as you can see in photos. I love how the shade is off to the side and I think it’s a real beauty. I see no breaks or cracks and once it’s refurbished and cleaned I think it will be gorgeous. All the clips are intact and I suspect unclipping the glass panels and washing them in a soft sudsy bath is what needs to be done. The base is a nice heavy metal with lovely embellishments as you can see in photos. It’s about 14 inches high and about seven inches wide. The item “Metal reticulated slag glass shaded lamp, vintage and very pretty” is in sale since Friday, November 25, 2016. This item is in the category “Antiques\Decorative Arts\Lamps”. The glass is all original and the lamp base retains the original finish. This lamp has been setting in the attic for about 20 years. I did not try to clean the glass or the oak base. The glass is dirty and there are tiny specs of paint on the base. The lamp is in working order but I would recommend rewiring the lamp base to be safe. This lamp shade is about 14 3/4 inches square. There is no damage to the original glass. There are no markings on this lamp so I do not know who made it. There is no damage to this lamp. No damage to the glass and no damage to the solid oak base. The lamp was rewired over 25 years ago but I would recommend rewiring the lamp to be safe. Please see the photos, the shade is connected to the lamp base by 4 screws. I will unscrew the shade and mark each screw with a string tag so it can be reattached as it was originally. If you have any questions please ask. I have for sale this exceptional twice signed handel leaded jagged edge lamp. Twice signed means both shade and base being properly signed. The base measures 24 inches tall and the shade is 16 inches wide. It has its original harvey hubbell three socket cluster with acorn pulls and and its been recently rewired with correct period style cloth cord. The base in excellent original patina throughout and without any metalware damage to speak of. The shade also in excellent original condition with all pieces of glass present and accounted for. The glass vibrant and alive as the pictures show and all the leading tight and right throughout. Great glass here folks as handel is well known for with some nice striations in the glass. The shade very sturdy and well made with the leading showing no signs of weakness nor losses. The shade signed with a handel tag on the lower border area and the base signed on the bottom with old cloth tag on old original felt bottom. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. If you live in the following radius or just outside it, we should communicate about not using a major carrier, so it has a better chance of survival and minimizing damage or a damage claim as well. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2. To sell them and not let my inventory sit around for years on end. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well. Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and no reserves. Please Check out my other items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. To all potential buyers. Please feel free to. Chances are if there aren’t any, it’s a newer item and you shouldn’t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. Thanks for your understanding. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. All the glass is original and free of cracks breaks or chips. The metal is a dark color and could use a good cleaning. I believe the fixture dates to around 1920 – 1930. Each shade measures 8″ across the bottom and 9″ high. Drop from Ceiling Measures approx. 20 tall and 5 feet wide. The green slag glass with the arts and crafts metalwork is stunning when the lights are on. The fixture is in working order. The fixture could be modified with chain links to hang lower. This fixture originally was over a pool table but could be used over a bar or kitchen island. Condition: Original Antique condition, could use a good cleaning. The metal could use fine steel wool to clean up. This is an old original antique fixture removed from an old large estate home. I have not tried to clean up this light fixture. I will be listing an additional 7 pendant light fixtures that match this large hanging light. I live in mid west Ohio. I have for sale this super and seldom seen chicago mosiac floral lamp. Its also a supersized lamp measuring 27 inches tall with the shade being 23.5 inches wide. For comparison reasons an average large sized lamp would be 22-23 inches tall with an 18 inch shade. Once you get past that sized every inch added is substantial believe me. The very desirable base in tree trunk form and in excellent patina throughout. No damage at all to report. The base also signed (which is quite rare in that chicago mosiac rarely signed their stuff) and with original bryant sockets with acorn pulls. There are no metalware breaks and the base in fine working order. The shade also in equally nice condition with solid leading throughout with the leading having no weak spots. The shade with vibrant and multiple colors throughout and lighting up way better in person than in my photos. There are some tight age cracks that are nothing to be alarmed about at all, as they are solid and not going anywhere for another 100 years if even then. I count about 6 or so and they do not detract from the shade at all as they is probably a thousand pieces in this shade and thats no exagerration. If they werent there, i would be nervous lol. Also i see no signs of repair anywhere on the base or shade.
