Rare Antique Signed Handel Slag Glass Table Lamp 17 1/2 Gorgeous Intricate Design. Up for sale is this stunning antique Handel slag glass table lamp. This lamp is about 17 1/2″ tall to the finial, the six sided shade is 6″ tall and 7 across the bottom. The shade has tons of gorgeous color and the palm trees come alive against a sunset backdrop. There are no chips or cracks in the leaded glass, 3 of the panels have fronds of the trees to the top of the panel and 3 panels have an open area above the trees. If there is some pieces missing it seems odd that 3 panels would all be similar. At any rate it looks beautiful all the way around. The shade is marked with the Handel name. The lamp base isn’t marked and appears to not be original to the shade but it does work. For that reason we are pricing the lamp taking that into consideration, even though the shade is exceptional. Mission art craft stained slag glass lamp handel tiffany duffner kimberly
A large incredible antique original very rare Riviere mission arts & crafts bronze overlay slag glass table lamp in excellent condition. This is one of the most beautiful lamps on e-bay. This lamp is truly a very finely hand crafted work of art from a master craftsman. You rarely see this amount of detail in any lamp. Paul Riviere was one of the finest lamp makers in his time. His studio produced some of the finest lamps available. Equal to or even surpassing Tiffany studios in quality. This is a lily pad pattern depicting a lily pond. The original patina is in excellent untouched condition with no damage to it anywhere. This lamp is a little dirty and could use a little cleaning that would only enhance the beauty of the original incredible slag glass in this shade. I have left it as found for the new owner to determine how and what to clean. They used the some of the most beautiful slag you will ever see anywhere it is full of color and fire the photo’s truly don’t do it any justice at all. There are three small cracks in the very beautiful slag glass panels shown in the last photo. They are tight cracks that are almost completely covered by the very fine bronze overlay meal work and will go completely unnoticed. There are no damages or repairs to this lamp. When I found the shade it was with out its base. The base is mostly constructed from solid bronze or brass. I have listed this lamp twice so I could post more photos of it. On a Hampshire pottery base. This lamp is also is in excellent overall condition and needs no excuses. Hampshire base in excellent original condition and in fine working order. I see no damage at all to the base. The base measures 18 inches tall with the shade being 15 inches wide. The base in excellent original patina and again without damage. This is a very desirable base folks and not very often seen and its been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord in matching green and old style plug. Now onto the shade. Antique Arts & Crafts Handel Leaded Slag Stained Glass Water Lily Table Lamp
I have had a few inquiries since I ended these last week, so here you go. I have used this sore for many years and they do a very nice job with packing. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very unusual Handel/Unique leaded glass table lamp. I say unusual since I have never seen one with water lilies or pink background. Periwinkle Unique shades are fairly common, but I don’t think water lilies are. Both the flowers and even the background glass are simply outstanding. The dark greens in the leaves really contrast well with the predominantly white petals of the water lilies, and the pink background glass just pulls it all together beautifully. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any setting. In terms of size, this is a rather large lamp with an 18″ diameter shade that stands 24″ tall. In terms of condition, I see a couple of small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and original lamp. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. Unique did not sign their shades and the ones that are signed HANDEL should be looked at as being very suspicious since copies were made in the 1970′s. The base is signed HANDEL with a metal tag in the bottom as pictured. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine.
