Beautiful vintage slag glass lamp. This lovely lamp features a vintage, richly hued slag glass shade in hues of yellows and gold and a long beaded fringe in a chevron shape. Made and has a nicely branched twig base in a metallic gold hue with a 3-way light socket. The two make for a stunning pairing. This lamp measures aprox. 27″ tall (to the top of the included finial) and has a width of 16″ (the shade) the lamp base has a width of aprox. There are a few flaws: the main one being an S-shaped crack in one panel of the shade, but is stable (recommend some glue or clear tape along the crack on the inside for extra stability), and there is a section of beading missing, about 1 inch in width, and one strand hangs down slightly lower than the rest (all 3 of these flaws are referenced in the last photos). All the glass panels are intact (the top glass panels are transparent dark red which is hard to see from the photographs). One piece of filigree is missing from one panel (see picture 5). The patina is original (dark brass), not painted. The lamp base is signed (see photo 6), and the lamp is newly rewired. Overall, a beautiful antique lamp! For your consideration is this vintage oak Mission style Table lamp with Caramel colored slag glass panels set in the wooden frame. The shade measures 14″ square and stands 23″ tall in total. The glass is all intact with no cracks or repairs. The lamp retains its original brass circle F socket with a July 1909 patent date. The lamp has been rewired with new cotton cloth covered 18 gauge copper wire. The lamp is estate fresh and besides cleaning and the new wiring comes to you as found. Bigelow & Kennard Hampshire Arts & Crafts Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a beautify example of a Hamshire pottery lamp base paired with a signed Bigelow & Kennard leaded shade. Just a wonderful arts & crafts look that I will let my pictures do most of the talking for. The shade is comprised of streaky white glass with a thick overlay design on the outside. It measures 20 in diameter and is in. With no breaks, cracks or replaced glass. It is literally as nice as it was the day it was made. The shade is fully signed Bigelow & Kennard, Boston, and Bigelow Studios, as shown. The base is one of Hampshire’s best looking arts & crafts bulbous styled ones. It has a beautiful dark green finish and is also in excellent overall condition with no repairs. There are a couple of tiny cracks on the underside from the making, but these are not visible and are absolutely. Nothing to be concerned about. The base is signed HAMPSHIRE 007, and with the hardware stands just over 20 tall. The base has a 3 socket oil can fitted font the cap of which is signed “Made in the United States of America”. It has what appears to be its original General Electric sockets that retain their old porcelain interiors and ball ended pull chains. The font has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug, and the lamp comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a large and impressive lamp made by a quality maker in the true arts and crafts style. It is a beautiful example of both Bigelow and Hampshire’s work and is in very fine condition overall. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. Antique Arts & Crafts Handel / Unique Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very unusual Handel/Unique leaded glass table lamp. I say unusual since I have never seen one with purple flowers. Sure, periwinkle Unique shades are fairly common and this design is pretty standard, but the glass in the one is just over the top fantastic. Both the flowers and even the background glass are very unusual and simply outstanding. Dark greens and blues run throughout this one, with some brighter pieces and even some yellow to make the stems. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any arts & crafts setting. In terms of size, this is not a large lamp but a good sized table lamp. The shade measures 14″ in diameter and the lamp stands 21″ tall. In terms of condition, I see a couple of small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. For those of you who are new to this, the shade was made by Unique and the base is Handel. Neither are signed as was common, but both are guaranteed to be 100% authentic and date from the early 1900′s. Has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me.
