Antique leaded glass lamp stained glass slag glass duffner and kimberly mosaic
Up for your consideration is a very large antique leaded glass hanging lamp shade with an ornate brass ceiling canopy and 25 inches of chain. Tge shade is in good condition with very few hear cracks for the amount of glass it has. Please examine all of my pictures and ask any questions you have as I try to accurately describe my items. This is an antique so I would becworried if there was no damage. This lamp would be lovely in a foyer with a high ceiling or a large open dining area (15 X 15 ft) or larger. The shade measures 25 inches in diameter and 14 inches tall. The fixture and hook add another 4 inches to top of the hook. The three socket cluster and cap are wired and all work. I want this to go to a good home for someone else to enjoy….. Not sit in a box unlit. Gorham arts crafts mission leaded slag glass lamp tiffany studios handel era
I have one of the coolest, most arts and crafts style lamps one could ever imagine and its in excellent original condition. Its a full sized lamp measuring in at 22 inches tall with the shade being 18 inches wide. Both base and shade in excellent original patina throughout. The base without metalware damage of any sort and quite heavy. It retains its original hubbell sockets as well. Its been recently rewired with period correct cloth cord and is in fine working order. Also please notice how the heart designs in the base match the heart design border in the shade to signify this is not a marriage of any sort. As for the shade thats in equally great condition. I see only two very tight and right age cracks that mean nothing as they wont fall out ever. The patina also excellent throughout and of course matches the base very nicely. The leading tight and right throughout the shade therefore there are no weak areas to speak of. Both base and shade unsigned, but to advanced collectors/dealers its an obvious gorham. Similar to unsigned paintings, artists have a certain brush stroke/style/color usage/ etc etc that identifys there painings even without a signature. This is one of those only in lamp form. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2. To sell them and not let my inventory sit around for years on end. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. If you live in the following radius or just outside it, we should communicate about not using a major carrier, so it has a better chance of survival and minimizing damage or a damage claim as well. Horseheads ny to Detroit mi , Detroit mi to Chicago il , Chicago il to Indianapolis In to Cincinnati oh , Cincinnati oh to Pittsburgh pa , Pittsburgh to Washington dc , Washington dc to manhattan ny , manhattan ny to boston ma, boston ma to Albany ny, Albany ny to buffalo ny. Please Check out my other items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. To all potential buyers. Please feel free to. Chances are if there aren’t any, it’s a newer item and you shouldn’t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. Thanks for your understanding. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it.
