Gorgeous ANTIQUE AMERICAN ART NOUVEAU Copper Overlay Slag Glass Lamp c. Gorgeous ANTIQUE AMERICAN ART NOUVEAU Copper Overlay Slag Glass Lamp , circa 1915. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a gorgeous Art Nouveau slag glass lamp, with meticulously cut metal overlay, dichroic slag glass, and a beautiful copper overlay base. I do not know the maker of this very rare lamp. It was made c. 1915, and retains all its original parts, glass, and sockets. The glass color is a translucent opal with a few light brown swirls. When a colored light bulb is used, the shade turns to that color, and the color is even throughout. The dichroic slag glass gives an opal-like effect, and was often used in Tiffany shades. It was difficult to produce, and the first example I have seen in a slag glass lamp. Similarly, this is the only example of this type of overlay that I have seen, Riviere Studios (pine needle) and Handel also used overlay. The lamp stands 23″ tall, and the shade is 18″ in diameter. The lamp is in excellent condition. The glass is free of chips, cracks, or damage, and is completely original. The filigree is complete, and free of loss or repair. The metal lamp base weighs about 10 lbs. And features metal overlay also. It is in excellent condition, complete, and has been professionally rewired. One of the pull chains is locked into the “on” position, and the filigree on the shade and base have even surface scratching throughout from prior dusting/cleaning over the years. Antique/vintage slag glass table lamp. All original condition
Beautiful slag table lamp in original working condition. The electric cord has been replaced but all else is original. Finish has a fantastic ivory white washed patina with some chips and scuffs. The 16 glass panels are all in perfect shape except one small rectangular piece that has a hairline crack but it is near the end and cannot be seen from the front. Lamp is 15 wide and total 22′ high. I cannot find a makers marking and have gone through a few of my reference books and cannot find this lamp. Unusual filigree tropical composition of palm trees and Basque style church? Antique Bradley & Hubbard Table Lamp 4-Panel Slag Glass Shade Signed VGC. This lamp is 100% all original and the light sockets and pull chains work. There is one crack in the lamp shade frame that can easily be repaired (See Photos). This is a rare style lamp as I have scoured the internet and cannot find one even similar. The base is cast iron and very heavy weighing in at 19 pounds! From internet research it seems the cast Bradley & Hubbard mark dates it between 1875 and 1940. I cannot find out the exact year it was made. (If you see this listing and have more information please message me). Lamp with Shade is 23 inches tall. Shade is 17 inches wide and 9 inches tall. Base is 14 inches tall and 7 inches wide. About Bradley & Hubbard. Bradley & Hubbard is a name found on many metal objects. Walter Hubbard and his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Lyman Bradley, started making cast iron clocks, tables, frames, andirons, lamps, chandeliers, sconces, and sewing birds in 1854 in Meriden, Connecticut. Before it found large success with kerosene-burning lamps with glass shades in the 1870s, Bradley & Hubbard mainly produced clocks, along with call bells and sewing machines. The company became Bradley & Hubbard Manufacturing Company in 1875. Charles Parker Company bought the firm in 1940. The company loosely began in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut when Nathaniel and William Bradley, Orson and Chitten Hatch, and Walter Hubbard, formed Bradley, Hatch & Company. This incarnation of the company only manufactured clocks. Clocks remained the firm’s primary product into the 1860′s. C. 1910 Stained Slag Leaded Glass Hanging Lamp 4 Pull Chain Sockets 24 in. Wide
Circa 1910 Stained Slag Leaded Glass Geometric Pattern Hanging Lamp. 4 Socket Cluster, 24 inches Wide. Beautiful shade with unusual granite backed blue opalescent and granite backed yellow opalescent glass. The glass on this shade just pops even when it’s not on. Shade is in excellent overall condition with no major damages. I did note some expected hair lines or stress line cracks in some of the panels around the boarder as shown. Glass is still tight. I also noted 1 small area pushed in on the very bottom of the boarder as shown. This would be an easy fix by a professional if one desired but displays just fine as is. There are the expected very lite surface scratches from age and use. Please view all photos. Glass has the standard swirl/ straw lines, flaws and air bubbles consistent with glass of this age. Shade measures a large 24 inches wide at the bottom and stands appr. 11 1/2 inches tall to the top of the brass fitter. Complete fixture stands appr. 18 inches tall from the bottom of the shade to the top of the canopy mounting hook. Shade has a 7 inch fitter with correct brass mounting canopy/ hardware. 3 working set screws. Has a 4 socket cluster with matching Bryant pull chain sockets and tassel pulls all in excellent working condition. Bottom of cluster is removable to allow access to the wiring. There are some scratches and marks on some of the brass connectors on the inside between the top of the cluster and the canopy. These will be undetected and are noted for accuracy only. Has been rewired with new period correct cloth covered wire. 40 inches of brass plated chain and appr. 50 inches of wire with plug. I’m sure this would not be cheap so please keep that in mind.
