Base -12 to top of shade holder. Cord- 6ft long with twist dial to turn on. Grafofoni Columbia lamp shade, which is typically part of a four-sided, vintage-style. The shade is made of slag glass (or painted glass panels) and features a pyramid-like shape with a cut-off top. The artwork on the panels is a reproduction of a famous 1920s Italian advertising poster for Columbia phonographs, originally designed by Leonetto Cappiello. Illustration: A well-dressed couple in 1920s attire dancing atop a large gramophone record. “Grafofoni Columbia”: Refers to Columbia record players. “Vendita Anche A Rate”: Meaning “also for sale in installments”. “Cataloghi Gratis”: Meaning “free catalogs”. “Via Dante 9 Milano”: The historical address for the company in Milan, Italy. Lamp Manufacture (Circa 1950s-1970s). Beautiful lamp a few small places of wear please look at pictures. Panels: The four pyramid-shaped panels are made of painted glass. While often described by collectors as slag glass (a type of marbled, opaque glass), these specific shades are typically clear or frosted glass panels that have been reverse-painted or hand-painted with the 1920s Italian advertising scene. Frame: The panels are held together by a metal frame, often made of “white metal” (a zinc-based alloy) or brass. In higher-quality versions, the panels are secured with metal tabs or a copper foil soldering technique.
NW Art Shade Co Chicago Slag Glass Lamp Antique 1920s Metal Overlay Lighted Base
This authentic, museum-quality circa 1920 Art Nouveau slag glass table lamp was meticulously crafted by the prestigious N. Art Shade Company of Chicago, Illinois, and serves as an exceptional investment piece for serious antique collectors. Standing as a premier example of the late Art Nouveau period, this rare model features six curved, amber-and-blue variegated slag glass panels housed beneath an incredibly intricate, heavy metal overlay depicting an elegant garden arbor scene populated with whimsical cherub and putti figures. Structurally distinct, the piece boasts a highly desirable lighted base that houses an independent internal socket within its matching paneled glass column, allowing the entire lighthouse-style stem to glow with a warm, ambient light alongside the main upper shade. The bottom is marked NW Art Shade Co, but I don’t have a photograph of it as it’s heavy and hard to get a picture of. Measures 27.5″ tall and 19.5″ wide. The lamp is in good condition, no cracked or broken panels. But some panels do have chipping around the inside edges that is covered by the metal framing and is normal for panel mounted slag glass lamps. There’s also some damage to the metalwork around the base. One pair of cats scrollwork is missing and two of the maidens have a broken bushel. Some of the panels have an unsoldered tip to the trellis.

Antique Amber Slag Glass Table Lamp. The amber slag glass is textured. The frame and base are painted green. The double socket base with pull chains rewired. The shade is 12” square x 7” tall. 19” tall to top of the finial. The base is 6” wide x 5” deep. No chips or cracks. In good used restored condition.

Antique slag glass table lamp circa 1920′s. 16 panels total in colors of cream to deep caramel and lower panels of a variegated blue, purple and greens. Beautifully worked filigree overlay featuring a floral pattern overlays the shade. The heavy cast ornate base has a faint gold wash over the metal and a nice original aged patina. 20 across widest part of the shade. Height of the shade 9. 8 3/4 across the lamp base. Newer single 3 way socket has been added. Has been rewired with new polarized plug/cord. There is a cast number on the inside of the base (42G) as it appears to me. In overall very good antique working condtion. No cracks seen in the glass. Metal shade tabs all good condition. Ready to enjoy for many more years! Antique Slag Glass Lamp
It’s antique slag lamp, I believe it’s from the art Nuevo period so 1920ish. It belonged to my grandmother. It’s been in her home for years from what I remember growing up. I don’t know much about it to be honest. Based on my research, the lamp dates around art nouveau. It has a lot of detail work on it and nothing is broken nor cracked.
