This is a supercool lamp folks so pay attention lol. This lamp is in very good overall condition and needs no excuses. The lamp base has been been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug and has zero damage to report. Very nice patina throughout and in fine working order. The base is a well documented Handel and is also signed on the bottom. Now onto the shades. Great coloration in a very cool arts and crafts/prairie style design with vibrant glass. It lights up better than my photos show. The shades in excellent original condition and needing zero excuses. The leading all tight and right throughout, and no loose glass pieces or missing segments of glass. This is a rare lamp folks and as cool as they come. The shades although not signed, are most certainly Handel as they have all the correct attributes in them. This is a very nice lamp folks so pay attention lol. This lamp is in very good overall condition. The signed bronze base in very nice original condition and presents itself very well as you can see. The three sockets in matching patina to themselves and the base itself and with matching ball pulls. There is no damage at all to report in regards to the base or shade. The base in very nice original patina throughout and recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug. The shade in very nice arts and crafts geometric design with floral border in very bold red glass and in very good original condition. I see about 6 tight hairlines/age stresses which is very good for lamps with this complicated of a design and this age and are certainly to be expected. All the leading tight and right throughout and no loose glass pieces. I like how the glass transitions from green to lighter green, almost white even towards the top. Fairly common with better lamp shade makers to give the lamp more life vs just having the same coloration from top to bottom. The pictures as you see them here from three 7 watt bulbs thats it. Not 15, 25, 40′s or 60′s just 7 watt bulbs. This has been a well maintained lamp for the past 100+ years. This lamp measuring in at 23 inches tall with the shade being 16 inches wide. Handel Arts & Crafts Leaded Stained Slag Glass Pink Tulip Desk or Accent Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. Here’s a very nice and pretty unusual Handel tulip table lamp. I say unusual since this version is much less common and. Than the standard green and white petal ones that are out there. This one has 5 pink/white petals with a much more realistic flower petal look than the simpler green and white oval shaped ones in their other lamps. I suspect that much fewer in this design were made. In any event, this is a great looking little desk or accent lamp It is in 100% all. Condition with no damage to any of the glass petals. Hubbell socket (to which the petals are soldered) with its original porcelain interior and acorn pull chain. The finish is all original as well with a reddish tint that matches the shade quite nicely. This finish is getting a bit worn on the high relief areas, but is still very nice overall. There is a faint HANDEL stamp on the underside (that I could not even picture) along with the model number 1217 and the word PATENTED. The lamp stands 14″ tall, is about 9″ wide and the shade is 6 in diameter. The lamp has been wired with period. Cord and is ready to use and enjoy. This is a nice and unusual example of an authentic Handel pink tulip lamp that is much less common than most out there. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. The wave bottom base semi rare and seldom seen and in very good original condition and presents itself very well as you can see. It also has three matching Hubbell sockets all in matching excellent patina and with matching acorn pulls, and its also been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug. The base signed on the bottom, please see photo, and the patina a beautiful chocolate brown. Now onto the shade. The shade in very nice arts and crafts geometric design and in in very good original condition. The leading all tight and right throughout and no loose glass pieces. The pictures as you see them here from three 7 watt bulbs thats it. Not 15, 25, 40′s or 60′s just 7 watt bulbs. A stray tight age line here or there, as to be expected for a shade 100 years old and several hundred pieces of glass encompassing the making thereof. I count three total. All tight and not going anywhere for another 100-200 years lol. You would have some wrinkles too if you were 100 years old. But the lines dont detract at all from the overall appearance of the shade lit or unlit. This has been a well maintained lamp for the past 100+ years. Handel era Arts Crafts VERY RARE SLAG GLASS ROYAL CO N. Y LAMP Bradley Hubbard
Here is an antique lamp that has been hidden from public viewing for way too long. The time has now come for me to release this treasure from my personal Arts & Crafts Collection, and give all other fellow lovers of good old glass the fair opportunity to try and obtain this rare gem for themselves. Therefore, my description of this lamp shall begin. Presented on display before you, it’s an extremely Rare Royal Co. Antique Arts & Crafts Lamp right here, and not to be mistaken by, mixed up with, or even confused with a similar old lamp company named Royal Art Glass. These 2 old lamp companies have the same word Royal included in their logo name. But They’re Not the Same Company. ” Royal Art Glass, first produced lamp products in the teens and 1920′s. “Royal Co. This really old slag glass lamp shade is not only very strong, very heavy, and very clean, but it’s sculpted design and standing presence is absolutely awesome! It’s full of vibrant colors that you never really ever get to see too often on old lamps. Especially the “Rare Red Color”. That is abundant, and the generously given green color as well, and covered in this gorgeous gold color. These three tremendous colors complement the uniquely designed chrysanthemum flowers and leaves that cover the outer lamp shade and lamp base of this monumental lamp. This lamp shade has been preserved very well over all these years, the original patina is pretty much all still present, and that is what makes this large lamp shade so attractive and so cool. This lamp shade is a wonderful presentation of what a very nice colorful Arts & Crafts Large Lamp Shade should look like. Lamp shade contains 8 Large Slags of antique slag glass. All slags are different blends of a caramel color collage of sorts, meaning 3 slags seem to be more of a darker caramel color, and 3 other slags seem to be a little lighter caramel color, and especially 2 slags that are currently in place next to each other seem to be a very lighter caramel color blend than the other 6 slags of caramel color slag glass. I believe that a previous owner probably moved or switched the slags of glass around to his or her preference of what shades of caramel they would prefer to look at more due to where they placed, or positioned this lamp in their home at one time. Since I obtained this lamp, I have always left the same slags of glass exactly where they are now. I have never moved them or switched them around. Lamp shade measures 19 Inches across in each direction, and only little speckled black spots here and there on outer sides of slags of glass, which is always common and normal on antique slag glass lamps over 100 years of age. Lamp shade is. Signed Made In USA. Now how cool is that? The only other antique lamp company that ever used to put on some of their lamp bases made in USA was the Pairpoint Company. So as far as I know, and knowing that this Rare Royal Co. Slag Glass Lamp is the only one I have personally ever seen, this lamp shade signed. ” Is pretty much the one and only. Seriously, I’ve seen thousands of Arts & Crafts Lamps in my long time of collecting and to have an old lamp shade signed “Made In U. Is truly a rarity indeed. Now on to the lamp base. This Arts & Crafts Lamp Base is straight up spectacular, Seriously! And that is no exaggeration. This uniquely shaped and originally sculpted structure presented before you is truly an awesome Arts & Crafts Gem. Very strong, very heavy, very thick, very decorative, and shaped so cool is this colorful creation of days of old. This lamp base definitely stands its ground, and can hang with the best of them. The patina is in really good original condition, all the original antique colors have been preserved well and have aged beautifully. Wonderful display of chrysanthemum flowers with a “Rare Red Color” scarcely ever seen on old lamps. The most amazing artistic details and designs engulfs the entire lamp base that has such an original sculpted shade design the refuses to be ignored, and continually gets your attention as you can’t help but to admire and say WOW! This is a 2 socket lamp base with pull chains, all old of course. Lamp base possesses its Original colorful heat cap and finial. And talk about heavy, this lamp base along with my other Royal Co. Lamp Base, are the 2 heaviest lamp bases I’ve ever lifted, really strong and very sturdy. Lamp base is Correctly Signed Royal Co. Located on the underneath bottom of base. Bottom of base has its Original clean patina present because it always had some kind of a wool felt type of covering the whole bottom until I removed it to reveal the original signature on the underneath bottom. There’s a black lined remnant around the underneath bottom rim of base because of that wool felt that was once attached there. Normal antique wear on the lamp base, light sockets, and pull chains due to its 100 plus years of antique age. Good looking period style cloth cord and plug present. Lamp is in good working order. Remember, this is an extremely scarce authentic Royal Co. Arts & Crafts Lamp. This is one of those rare lamp companies that almost never surface for sale. I personally owned 2, this one and my other reverse painted glass Royal Co. Lamps for sale, and even for this low price. Try and do some research, and you will soon know what I mean.
