Handel Arts & Crafts Slag Stained Glass Reverse Painted Shade Lamp Base
Here’s a really nice and very rare large Handel triple scroll lamp base. This is a base that needs a good sized shade and if you have such a shade this base will add tremendous value to it. Its a nice all original base with a dark brown finish and original matching Hubbell socket shells. Comes complete with matching fleur-de-lis cap and teardrop finial. Its a large base standing 24″ tall with a bottom that measures 7 1/2″ in diameter. Unsigned, but 100% guaranteed to be Handel. No socket interiors and (obviously) not currently wired. Handel Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Shade Cage Rest Cap Finial Part Set
Here’s a neat Handel shade rest setup. I have seen a lot of lamp “cages” which were typically used for gas lamps where the top was open in order to allow the glass insert to go up through, but I have never seen one with an integrated cap and finial. I like this idea since when you use it you won’t have that big open hole in the top. Obviously since this is an actual Handel cap it will fit on all Handel lamps whether they be reverse painted, slag or leaded. So if you have base bottom, this would allow you to make a nice full base and it will look a lot better than just having an open cage. 8 1/2 tall to the edge of the shade rest. The finial is just attached with a hex nut.

That’s huge overall savings folks. Did somebody say Christmas present? I have for sale this super nice and very very hard to find Handel double student arts and crafts leaded lamp. This is a supercool lamp folks so pay attention lol. This lamp is in very good overall condition and needs no excuses. The lamp base has been been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug and has zero damage to report. Very nice patina throughout and in fine working order. The base is a well documented Handel and is also signed on the bottom. Now onto the shades. Great coloration in a very cool arts and crafts/prairie style design with vibrant glass. It lights up better than my photos show. The shades in excellent original condition and needing zero excuses. The leading all tight and right throughout, and no loose glass pieces or missing segments of glass. This is a rare lamp folks and as cool as they come. The shades although not signed, are most certainly Handel as they have all the correct attributes in them. No other makers made lamps in the same appearance or style of Charles Parker, nobody. Now onto the Handel base. Its in fine working order and again there is no damage to report. No dents or dings or metalware loses. This style of Handel base would have been used for their best lamp shades of which would have been their reverse painted lamps, typically bird scenes. The base recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug. The base also with three, and original to the base, matching Hubbell pulls in matching patina. This lamp will command any room its put in and lights up better than photographed. It would look particularly well sitting on a Stickley or Limbert style table due to its arts and crafts design and form.
