Antique Slag Glass Paneled Lamp Flowers on Base and Shade Frame Miller Co

This lamp is a signed Miller table lamp with a beautiful caramel curved glass paneled shade. Notice the detailed floral design in the base of this lamp base which matches the floral designs that encircle the lamp shade and secures the six panels into each section and also provide an attractive look. This lamp measures 21 1/2? High is 16? Diameter on the shade and the base has a 7 1/2? Diameter. There are two light sockets that provide ample light for the home or office. This lamp is signed on the base’Miller’. Here is some information about the Miller lamp company. Miller was established in 1844 in Meriden, Conn. As Joel Miller and Son. The company got its start in lighting manufacture by producing metal candleholders, and then moved into kerosene lamps, gas lighting, and electric lighting as times changed. The name of the company changed too, becoming Edward Miller & Co. For a time, then The Miller Co. A mark of Miller or E M & CO on the base indicates a Miller lamp. Miller produced more expensive leaded glass lamps, but seized the opportunity to sell lighting for the middle classes as more and more homes were wired for electricity. A 1920 Philadelphia Electric Co. All the lamps are described as being “cast metal openwork” over “light amber art glass” and could be ordered in a variety of metal finishes including French brown, Grecian antique, Etruscan bronze and Florentine relief. While lamps were made with glass in colors other than amber, or caramel as it is often called now, amber predominates. According to a lighting catalog from the period, Amber is the color used in all [our] lamps. Amber has, by scientific tests been proven to be easiest on the eyes, and most restful when reading. 1920′s Slag Glass Cast Metal Frame Table Lamp 15 Custard Panels Rewired READ
This is vintage and pre-owned. This is an absolutely stunning lamp. Im not 100% sure if this is Edward Miller. This was rewired and works flawlessly. While lit, it is absolutely gorgeous. The shades are a custard color. There are a couple of small scratches on the shades. Please view the photos as they are part of the description. Seems to be a fairly unusual lamp that is fairly hard to find. I do see a lot of lost paint here and there and signs of wear. No chips to the glass and the pull chain works as it should. Antique Arts & Crafts Era Copper & Green Slag Glass Hanging Light. Material: Copper Frame & Green Slag Glass & Brass Chain. Ca 1900 – 1920. Measurements: approximately 8″ height to top, base measures approximately 12″ square. Condition: good, and works fine….. This lamp was rewired. Notice in the photographs that there are scratches on the copper frame, including a 1.25 scratch (which has a sticky residue) on the upper copper frame. These scratches may not show when the lamp is hung from the ceiling, it just depends on how far the lamp descends from the ceiling. This ceiling light is a nice antique arts & crafts era fixture and gives a nice color when lit. It could hang above the table, or above your desk, or above the game or pool table… You know where your house needs light.

Antique B&H Art Deco Art Nouveau Slag Glass Lamp with Rare 4-Arm Spider Frame
For Your Consideration. Antique Bradley and Hubbard Art Deco/Nouveau Slag Glass Lamp with Spider Frame. This truly beautiful B&H Slag Glass Lamp features a unique “spider” frame – 4 solid arms upon which the shade rests. The 8 panel shade is a creamy beige and white slag glass, and each panel is snugly held in place by the hooks on each individual piece/section. The ornate design on the shade is Art Deco or even Art Nouveau, and is intricately stunning. The base is solid and marked on the bottom side with the number 200. The cord is extra long and in excellent shape. There are no flaws or issues other than some normal aging (base has a slightly worn area as pictured) and there appears to have been a repaired crack on one panel near the thinnest end. I pictured it close up from the inside and the outside, but its barely noticeable from the inside and unnoticeable from the outside. I just wanted to disclose it as when I run my finger over it I can feel it was glued or somehow repaired. It’s about half inch long and the width of a human hair – very thin and very fine. I examined the lamp time and again and I can say its otherwise perfect. I especially love the spider frame as it lends sturdiness to the overall piece and plus, it’s so unique. The light thrown from the lamp is calming and lovely – like stepping back in time; more than 100 years back! The measurements are 22″ Tall from the base to the top of the filial, and the shade is 14.5″ wide in diameter.
