Antique 1900s Art Nouveau Green Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp Rewired FREE SHIP
For sale here is a beautiful antique 1900s Art Nouveau green/caramel slag glass table lamp in very good condition, rewired and ready to use. This lamp is large and heavy and very well made. I dont see a makers mark. Most likely a MILLER. This is a matching shade and base lamp. Both are octagonal and have a large leaf theme. The leaves at the base are beautiful relief and the same leaf is reflected in linear design in the shade so the light can pass though. Very beautiful when all lit up. The glass looks to all match. No cracks or breaks in the shade. Amazingly no missing or broken pieces of that very fine line work in cast metal. The base has exposed brass elements that add a nice detail. There are trim pieces, the sockets and the finial in exposed brass. The Base finish is not original. It is a matte dark bronze. You could easily touch this up if you wanted. This lamp measures 24 inches tall x 19 inches in diameter. I have rewired this lamp with high end bronze cloth covered lamp wire. There is a lot of cost there and time! Antique Arts & Crafts Handel / Unique Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very unusual Handel/Unique leaded glass table lamp. I say unusual since I have never seen one with such a deep apron. Periwinkle Unique shades are fairly common and this design is pretty standard, but the choice of glass in the one coupled with the very unusual deep boarder makes this one special. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any arts & crafts setting. In terms of size, this is a full sized table lamp with a 16″ diameter shade (that is nearly 9 1/2″ deep) that stands an impressive 24 tall. In terms of condition, I see a couple of small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and original. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. For those of you who are new to this, the shade was made by Unique and the base is Handel. Neither are signed as was common, but both are guaranteed to be 100% authentic and date from the early 1900′s. Has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. The wonderful rose boarder design is depicted on an 18 diameter dome shaped shade with a green geometric. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here, but will note that the glass is just beautiful and highly colorful and there are maybe 2 or 3 small cracks here and there throughout the shade. The floral motif is depicted in the. Base which has its original hardware and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord. I have come across many J. 1920s Scrolled & Cut Metal Arts & Crafts Style Table Lamp Slag Glass Shade
1920s Scrolled & Cut Metal Arts & Crafts Style Table Lamp; Slag Glass Shade. A rare survivor – an all original, early 20th century table lamp. Heavy cut iron corners on the base with scrolled metal sheets making up the side panels. The shade is also cut metal with implied rivets, and a scrolled top. The finish is a mottled black and green. The glass panels in the shade are mostly an oxblood color, mixed with light and bright greens. Two long pulls from the original cluster socket. One pull has the original acorn-style pull, while the other is a replacement bell shape. Aside from the wiring, all original. The painted finish is on everything but the sockets. From one of those increasingly rare types of estates – one with items from several generations in one house. The lamp works and both pulls operate smoothly. The wiring is not new, and could use replacing. The finish has some wear at the base – a couple of rust spots and paint loss at the low point of one of the base’s scrolled sides. The scrolls at the top of the shade do not all line up perfectly, but this appears to be because they were done by hand. 27 tall to the top of the finial. Base is 14 tall to the top of the scrolls. The base is 7 from corner to corner. The shade measures 12″ wide at the bottom, and 4″ at the top. The scrollwork is 5.5 from corner to corner. All items come from a smoke free home.
