Vintage Art Deco Slag Glass Flower and Leaves Table TV Lamp Horse and Cart
Glass flower boudoir or TV lamp c. I believe these were often made in Czechoslovakia, but this is unmarked as such. The lamp works and the original cord seems to be in good working order, but it is not 3 prong. The horse and cart base measures about 9″ long x 4″ wide. The flower part extends up and out so the full dimensions of the piece are really about 15″ x 15″ if you have a space that you are considering, it does take up a considerable area. The pottery base piece has hairline cracks at each corner, I believe this was a production defect when the cement was poured in the base. I took off any flowers that were really damaged, but you might find a minor chip or two throughout the piece. I added two extra leaves from another piece that you may want to try to reattach to give it a fuller look. I gave this a cursory wipe down for the photos, but it will need a more substantial detail cleaning probably with a Q-Tip. I don’t think it had been wiped or dusted in about 40 years or so! Most of the items that I sell are vintage, used and loved- they are RARELY going to be perfect. You may consider something a problem that I have not even considered as a defect. Vintage Deco/Mid Century weird peacock TV lamp with slag glass flowers & leaves
Super-weird peacock boudoir or TV lamp with slag glass flowers and leaves. This fun mid century lamp works and the original cord is flexible and in good condition. Though not grounded, FYI. I’ve added a pink satin C7 (nightlight size) bulb, which I’m happy to include. The pink and purple ceramic peacock is about 7 1/2 inches wide, 7 1/2 inches tall. As I have it arranged, the whole thing is about 17 1/2 inches tall, 13 wide, but as you can see, that’s easily changed as each of the petals, flowers or leaves is on its own wire. Each main branch is wrapped in silk thread that is fraying a bit, but it does not affect the stability or soundness of the structure. Umarked, so the maker is unknown. Bradley and Hubbard Bronze Table Lamp Slag Glass Dogwood Leaves Berries
Up for your consideration is a Bradley and Hubbard table lamp, circa 1915. It is art nouveau style, with dogwood leaves and berries designed in bronze. The lamp shade has six cream-colored slag glass panels. This lamp is used, but in excellent condition and appears to be all original with no necessary competed repairs. The only discovered damage, aside from the typical scratches, edgewear, and dings, is there appear to be 2 tabs missing that hold in one of the panels. This item has been well-cleaned, but there may be some leftover dust. The panels are unbroken and uncracked. The shade has been fully disassembled and cleaned, however, as you can see in the photos, there are tiny black spots on the glass where some dirt is still present. This lamp is very heavy for its size and weighs approximately 17 pounds with the cord. The cord is in excellent shape and appears to be original, but this is unconfirmed. Light bulbs not included for safety purposes. The makers mark is very small and located at the top of the lamp itself, upside down, and only visible when the shade is removed. On the opposite side, it says “APL”. The bottom of the lamp has a protective green fabric, in decent but used condition. Measurements are approximate and listed below. Antique Slag glass lamp has been in our family for 31 years. Heavy metal base is 20″ tall with a bottom round area that is 6 1/2″ across. Heavy glass and metal shade is 16″ across and 6 1/2″ tall. Wear in area’s to the original factory paint. Beautiful ORIGINAL Carmel Slag glass – Wavy & lines of carmel colors! One carmel slag line (to an amateur) might appear to be a crack, I guarantee it is NOT a crack. Great looking whether it is turned on or turned off. When it lits —very nice amber, honey, caramel, yellow tone colors, lower panels have “OAK LEAVES & ACORNS” pattern with green, brown colors, 4 lower panels were replaced. No damage to lamp base , only a few “frog skin” oxidation spots which is usually for lamp over 100 years old, very strong structure!!! The lamp base has original cluster with three original “HUBBEL” sockets with original pull chains and finials. Shade has metal tag/stamp on the ring-”HANDEL lamps” and lamp base had green felt with stamp “HANDEL Lamps” on a side of the bottom which was lost /please look at the pictures/.
