SLAG GLASS RETICULATED PUTTI SQUIRREL LAMP SHADE Art Nouveau RARE
This six panel lamp shade has six white and purple slag glass panes held in place by metal tabs and a squirrel motif metal frame. The panes transform into a soft amber glow when light is put behind them. One of the tabs is bent and is not supporting the glass and I have not bent this back so as not to stress or weaken the metal prong. I don’t know what type of metal it is but my guess is lead. This is a very heavy piece. It appears to have once had a decoration in at least one place that has been broken off. Please see close-up photo of this particular section. It is approximately 11″ across at the base and 3 1/2″ across at the top. The metal is fragile and prone to bending. The glass is in pristine shape, no chips/cracks. I do not know the origin of this piece. Guaranteed to be well-packed to arrive in the condition pictured. Antique Pair POUL HENNINGSEN 8 PANEL Slag Glass Reticulated Putti Angel Lamps
This is an antique circa 1930s Pair of. POUL HENNINGSEN original carmel 8 PANEL slag glass Cherubs Putti Lamps. It should remove with the proper tool, perhaps needle nose pliers, but does not interfere with the workmanship of the lamp. The lamps have vintage wiring, perhaps from the 70′s, so if they are not original to the shades then this is the era of the lamps. There is some discoloration to the brass tops that i havn’t noticed except in the photos and they certainly could use a gentle cleaning. There is no breakage to the glass panels. They are each 16″ tall to the top of the finials and the 8 panel shades are 12″ round. I have found alot of. POUL HENNINGSEN’s 6 panel shades but these are 8 panels and obviously, more rare for that reason. The reticulated baskets on the panels also include the initials P H. Special attention and care will go into the packaging of these beautiful lamps to ensure safe arrival. Metal reticulated slag glass shaded lamp, vintage and very pretty
This stunning lamp has been in the attic for many many years. I attempted to clean it but gave up because I have too much arthritis to do all that intricate work…. It needs also to be rewired as the wiring looks very old as you can see in photos. I love how the shade is off to the side and I think it’s a real beauty. I see no breaks or cracks and once it’s refurbished and cleaned I think it will be gorgeous. All the clips are intact and I suspect unclipping the glass panels and washing them in a soft sudsy bath is what needs to be done. The base is a nice heavy metal with lovely embellishments as you can see in photos. It’s about 14 inches high and about seven inches wide.
