Antique Miller Working 1920′s Painted Scenic Slag Glass Table Lamp- Double Light
ANTIQUE MILLER WORKING 1920′S PAINTED SCENIC SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP – BLUE + LAVENDER SLAG GLASS – RIDGED COLUMN, WAVE PATTERN ON BASE – DOUBLE SOCKET, PULL CHAIN. This ANTIQUE MILLER SCENIC SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP is in heavy cast metal, and is in working order, but might be best to rewire it. This lamp had been painted during the’40′s, in various colors, following the contours of the metal castings of both the stand, base and shade. The shaped shade is lined with curved slag glass, with the glass having striations of blue, lavender and beige. Strangely, when lit, the lavender turns a warm color. The shade is six sided, and has an open-work scene of apple trees, vegetation, and a waterfront cottage with dock along a waterway. This scene is repeated on each of the six panels. All panels are joined by a ribbed frame with a scallop-shaped border and openwork top. There is the original pointed finial, which had also been painted. The column is ribbed, with decorative detailing. The base has a cast outer border in a wave pattern. This lamp has a double socket, with pull chains. One chain is a replacement, and is slightly longer then the other. This chain tends to stick in the’off’ position. Due to the heavy weight, the lamp and the shade will need to be sent separately. Condition: In working order, but it might be best to rewire it. This lamp had been painted during the’40′s, and has several overall chipped areas. In addition, one of the pull chains is a replacement, and is slightly longer then the other. Antique Slag Glass Lamp Base Art Deco Old Wiring Heat Cap Stained Painted Shade
Leaves and berries twine around this antique art deco lamp base. It’s large 22″ high to the top of the finial, with an 8″ base substantial enough for a significant slag, stained, or reverse painted glass shade. Unsigned, but the casting is of Royal, B & H, or Pairpoint quality. The old gold paint has mellowed to a lovely patina. A magnet DOES stick to it. There’s some oxidation (see pictures), but appears to be mostly surface. It has the heat cap, which is great, and the old cloth wiring. The fitter will accept a shade with a 3.25″ 4″ opening. This lamp base is a lovely antique. It needs to be re-wired, and there is some oxidation. Please look at the pictures, and ask for more. Right now, we’re also helping to downsize our parents (in their 90s). Sell things as we find them; we do not attempt to make repairs. However, right now, we rub everything with hand sanitizer before it goes out the door. We don’t ruin the patina, though. We try to describe items as accurately as possible. However, some things that we see as normal aging, others might see as a flaw or defect. Please look at the pictures — we’ll send you more if you’d like to see them. Such a beautiful lamp!!! As found, Absolutely gorgeous purple/lavender slag glass from the late 1800s to early 1900s. From the art nouveau period. This lamp is Antique and the FOUR Purple Slag Glass panels are CURVED. This would be beautiful as a Boudoir Lamp or really anywhere as an accent lamp. Glass is in perfect original condition. The cord has been replaced as well as the harp. There is a little paint loss to the hard metal (not lead) which is common in a lamp this old and adds to the antique charm. The light bulb is not included. THESE PICTURES ARE NOT ENHANCED!!! This is how the lamp looks in natural light streaming in from my window, both on and off. This lamp stands – 11.5 inches high. Antique Bradley & Hubbard Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Reverse Painted Lamp, c1920. This fantastic antique early 1900′s, BRADLEY & HUBBARD table lamp features a hemispherical shade which is reverse-painted with stylized flowers against ribbed glass with 6 curved glass panels, on a three-socket arts & crafts bronzed base with three pull chain lights. It is in very good antique condition. Panels are old and all very good with some minor paint loss, all metal work in the shade is there and nothing is broken. The glass is curved, ribbed and reverse painted from the inside. The ribbed glass creates a halo effect around the painted shapes and mutes the colors. It is very elegant at night. Awesome lamp when lit up. I believe it is very original including its finial at the top. This lamp has been rewired and has one replaced socket. Marked Bradley & Hubbard, base is marked 314B.
