Antique Miller Working 1920′s Painted Scenic Slag Glass Table Lamp- Double Light

ANTIQUE MILLER WORKING 1920′S PAINTED SCENIC SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP – BLUE + LAVENDER SLAG GLASS – RIDGED COLUMN, WAVE PATTERN ON BASE – DOUBLE SOCKET, PULL CHAIN. This ANTIQUE MILLER SCENIC SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP is in heavy cast metal, and is in working order, but might be best to rewire it. This lamp had been painted during the’40′s, in various colors, following the contours of the metal castings of both the stand, base and shade. The shaped shade is lined with curved slag glass, with the glass having striations of blue, lavender and beige. Strangely, when lit, the lavender turns a warm color. The shade is six sided, and has an open-work scene of apple trees, vegetation, and a waterfront cottage with dock along a waterway. This scene is repeated on each of the six panels. All panels are joined by a ribbed frame with a scallop-shaped border and openwork top. There is the original pointed finial, which had also been painted. The column is ribbed, with decorative detailing. The base has a cast outer border in a wave pattern. This lamp has a double socket, with pull chains. One chain is a replacement, and is slightly longer then the other. This chain tends to stick in the’off’ position. Due to the heavy weight, the lamp and the shade will need to be sent separately. Condition: In working order, but it might be best to rewire it. This lamp had been painted during the’40′s, and has several overall chipped areas. In addition, one of the pull chains is a replacement, and is slightly longer then the other.
