When it lits —very nice geometric brick green granite backed tone colors, lower irregular floral “blooming hollyhock flowers” pattern with pink-orange colors. No damage to lamp base and lamp shade has a few/4-5/ slag glass panes heat line cracks which is usually for lamp over 100 years old, very strong structure!!! Shade has metal tag/stamp on the ring-”HANDEL lamps” and lamp base has etched stamp “HANDEL” on a side of the bottom/please look at the pictures/. Most popular and classic colors! In very good working order. EXTREMELY RARE LAMP BASE , bronzed metal bulbous lamp base molded with petals and scalloped foot /please look the same lamp base at the book , page 131 upper row by Hibel& Fontaine “The Handel Lamps”!!! Shade has 19 3/4″, lamp base is 23.5″!!! All parts are original, original heat cap, original cluster with three “HUBBEL” sockets with original pull chains and finials. Rare Cast Iron and Cast Metal, Slag Glass, Lamp Antique
This Is a Gorgeous Turn of the century Slag glass table lamp with a cast iron shade above a cast metal Base. The base has Sea birds flying over water with fish below. The base is heavy and a magnet will not stick. The finish has been Professionally refinished as close as to original as possible. The lamp has been rewired with Rayon and a period acorn style plug, The original Bryant socket dated 1890 was retained. The glass appears to be the original granite back Kokomo slag glass from that period and has no cracks. The shade measures aprox. 13 1/2″ square, the lamp stands about 19 1/2″ tall with a 6 1/2 square base. We have installed a 3-Level touch dimmer rather than an in-line switch. Height: 21 1/2 There is spotty paint loss on the stand (please see photos) as well as a couple spots of paint loss on the lampshade. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs on the lampshade. Between our years in the business and much research after taking possession of this lamp, we can honestly say that we’ve never seen a slag glass lamp with this “bubble” feature in the base. The handles are also a noteworthy feature, along with the wonderful coloration throughout and superb details in the metalwork. The lamp is about 21″ tall overall x 19″ shade diameter. The base is lit separately. The glass is all in fine condition, with some chipping along edges inside, from the original cutting.
