Antique Floor Lamp with Dolphins &Huge Octagon Bent Curved Slag Glass Shade Lamp
We view lamps as more than lighting, we view them as art. As more than a way to brighten a room, a way to brighten ones day. Up for consideration is this Floor Lamp with Dolphins &Huge Octagon Bent Curved Slag Glass Shade Lamp. We found the floor lamp base in Arizona. The shade is no doubt early 20th century and was hung in dinning room of old Hollywood home not a mile from the Hollywood Bowl. The new owners from Italy did not understand or appreciate the old treasure. We will consider delivering the lamp to areas of far western US. Please message to discuss possibility. It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. This is another lamp we have married. Both base and shade frame have areas of patina or tarnish (see photos). There are no chips or cracks in any of the slag glass. There a couple of clips missing but the glass securely in place. Please view all photos carefully as they are a part of the item description. JAD Original 1920s Slag Glass Floor Lamp Cocktail / Smoking Table UNIQUE
As you see it in the pics. I took the 1920 Slag Glass Lamp from Chicago and cut the top off and attached a Vintage Guilded Edge heavy Silver Platter to it and the lamp is made from a Vintage Silver Sugar service with a Digital Fire Bulb in it for a Fabulous Effect. The table is ok to be out on the deck serving as a very romantic meeting point because its mostly sealed from moisture via silicone gasget around the glass. The slag glass bottom lights when the lamp is plugged in but the lamp on the table is switch controlled and different Modes can be achieved on the bulb by turning it on/off quickly twice so it stays solid lit or again to go to Flame mode. Came out exactly as i envisioned it! To change bulb simply pull the top with glass off and replace. The Rose and Cherry on the platter were put there by me and are solid Pewter cuz they look COOL. BTW this table saved my life as i had to many drinks got lost in the yard and crawled towards the firey lighthouse!!! Since most of the parts on this piece actually ARE from the Roaring 20s i can see why it was referred to as such… Oh and by the way… Those are vintage necklaces around the glass. This IS one of a kind! Every part used in the making of this lamp is used and may have imperfections, scratches or dents. Really amazing condition glass. Some straw lines & natural imperfections as to be expected. One small flake probably from factory on top of the smallest glass font shown in 7th pic. This is mostly covered & unseen with the washer in place. Otherwise NO chips or cracks on glass pieces. Loaded with uranium & glows crazy under blacklight-see last pic. Typical rust & aging on all the metal, especially the base-As seen! The iron base is about 10 square. The base glass is about 6 square. The long glass font is about 5 1/4″long , the smaller glass font is about 2″ long… This package will be packed carefully & have some weight to it.
