Antique Slag Glass 8 Panel Side Ornate Bronze Table Lamp Art Nouveau
Antique Art Nouveau Table Lamp with Curved Paneled Slag Glass Shade. What a beautiful old lamp that needs a few small repairs/assembled. As for the lamp itself I believe it is bronze (a magnet does NOT attract to it). Without the glass panels it weighs 9 pounds 7 ounces. There are signs of natural aged patina over the entire metal frame work. Some of it is like a white powder residue. The ornate design on the shade is easily moveable and delicate. There is one piece that broke off which would need to be reattached (photo 7) and there is another piece that is still attached but cracked/separated at a few connecting points. The narrow arch between the panels some of them are a little bent (example photo 10 to the left). There are 8 curved caramel/tan pieces of slag glass panels. The little clamp like pieces that hold the glass panels in the shade 4 sets of them are missing (see photo 5). I don’t find any maker name on the light. The wiring is old so I would suggest replacing that. Lamp measures 20 1/2 tall. Shade measures 15 in diameter. Total combined weight approximately 14 pounds (prior to packaging). A RARE & STUNNING ANTIQUE MISSION ARTS CRAFTS RIVIERE STUDIOS BRONZE SLAG GREEN & WHITE GLASS LAMP FROM THE TIFFANY ERA. IT LIGHTS ON THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM. THIS IS NOT THE SHADE YOU USUALLY SEE WITH THIS BASE BUT ITS HOW I FOUND IT IN THE ESTATE AND IT LOOKS GREAT. COULD BE A MARRIAGE OR A CUSTOM PIECE I DONT KNOW? Condition is amazing for its age. It has two very small issues. Lamp was rewired at some point and whoever did it cut a piece of sheet metal from underneath the base to have more room to do the wiring. It doesnt show (unless you turn the lamp upside down) or effect the stability. One of the panels has lost its metal glass support tabs and the glass is sitting in the groove but taped on the sides so it should probably be secured better. No chips or cracks in the glass. Lamp works but I wont guarantee the wiring. Looks good but youre responsible for checking it yourself. Shade is 14.5 across by 9.5 tall. Handel Signed Oak Tree Bronze Base Slag Glass Cabin Lake Scenic Shade Lamp Table
This lamp is in Good working condition. I plugged the lamp in and all 3 sockets work as they should. You pull a chain to turn on 1 or all 3 sockets. One socket is missing its metal outer casing. The finial is also missing on the lamp. The shade is in good condition for its age. The shade has a 6 panel scenic look. The scene is of a cabin with a lake or pond and trees. There are 2 types of slag glass in the shade. There is a blue slag glass for the lake and a purple slag glass for the sky. There is 1 piece of slag glass missing in the shade (please see picture). All of the other slag glass pieces are in Good condition with no chips or cracks. There is a little separation in one of the metal panels on the top (please see pictures). I could not find a signature in the shade. The lamp base is just beautiful. The base is in the form of an oak tree with its roots on the bottom and limbs going up the trunk. The base is signed on the bottom – Handel. The shade measures approx. 19 wide by 10 tall. The lamp base measures approx. I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving. RARE Handel Leaded Slag Stained Glass Bronze Water Lily Lamp Base
This is hard to find Handel lamp base. I have only come across a few over the years. It is a water lily themed one, done in solid bronze. Great look, nice finish, and complete with Hubbell sockets (with porcelain interiors), acorn pulls, cap and finial. It is even wired up with period style brown cloth cord. I see no dents, dings or major scratches and medium brown finish looks great. 21 1/2″ tall, 8″ diameter at the widest point of the bottom. Prominently signed HANDEL as shown.
