Gorgeous Edward Miller (Meriden Connecticut) Slag Glass Lamp Signed Dated c. Six curved caramel slag glass panels secured in a floral metal frame. The frame, column, base and fixtures have traditional. Applied’old gold’ finish and detailed metal over colored glass. No cracks or damage to any of the 6 large original slag glass panels. They are hand made and cut with no 2 being exactly the same. 21″ tall (Base 8″ wide). Shade 16″ wide x 8″. This heavy shade simply rests on top of the lamp. How it was made and is by design. One of the pull-chain switch sockets was not functioning; stuck and. We did have to remove and examine; the internal. Ratcheting switch device was broken. A modern pull-chain switch. Socket was installed; the bright chain was shortened and the original. Dark chain was installed. As these lamps are just now turning 100. Years, their value will only go up and original parts will become scarce. We will included the original damaged ceramic-based pull chain. Socket so that it will always be complete with the lamp and could. Cocoon each slag glass panel. To reinstall the panels. No cracks in each panel. To display as pictured. Description: Up for sale is this very interesting kerosene lamp. It has never been converted to electric and is in the condition as it would have been used in the late 19th or early 20th century. Shade is a very nice 8 panel green slag glass with green, brown and cream swirls. Glass is textured with a “cat’s paw” imprint that bends the light as it passes through. Edge of shade has a nice Greek Key design. The loops below this would have hung small glass beads from each loop. Now long since lost. Burner is a double Young’s Duplex with clear glass reservoir. Stem is brass with black terra cotta base. All said a very nice “untouched” lamp from the late 19th or early 20th century that might be of interest. Very cool contemporary Arts & Crafts style oak, brass, and slag glass 2-socket table lamp. 16″ x 16″ shade, 21 tall. Recently professionally rewired w/ period appropriate cord (10′) and quality in-line switch installed. Obviously styled after a well-known Limbert form table lamp… The base is made w/ quartersawn oak. Heavy shade is made from a riveted (56 rivets) brass framework w/ slag glass panels that has a cut-out overlaid design of trees w/ an owl perched on a branch. There are 8 separate panels and the designs on each side are continuous as if one image. Two socket lamp w/ perfectly functioning acorn end pull chains. Two breaks to the slag glass at top… One doesn’t show… See last three photos. Custom made boxes and careful packaging.
