Antique Arts & Crafts Nouveau Handel Era Reverse Pattern Slag Glass Lamp Repair
Great size on this slag glass lamp with bronze patina. 24 inches tall x 21 inch wide shade. Slag shades have a textured surface with a reverse painted/printed pattern – which is very unusual. Great color and design. Base is in good condition, we suggest rewiring. Clips that hold the shades in place are missing on most spaces, so when photographed we used tape to hold panels in place. There’s are also two breaks in the outer shade rim, see photos. It is still structurally sound because it is s very well made shade. There is a (original to the piece)thick wire welded to the outer underside rim of the shade for support. There is tape residue on the underside of shades that should be removed. We photographed the lamps underside with the blue tape I used to hold the shades in place for the photograph. See partial pic of blue tape. Fine detail from the base to the rim of the shade with the curly wave like design… The finial is also interesting, like an urn. Atq Brass Arts & Crafts Stained Glass Slag Glass Wide Brass Filigree Chandelier
Gorgeous Arts and Crafts hanging suspended ceiling chandelier. The fixture is made of heavy brass with wide brass filigree. The stained or slag glass panels are all damage free and are a caramel or yellow/white in color. The wiring appears to be original and should be inspected/repaired/replaced prior to use. The chandelier did work prior to removal from past service. This was originally installed in an Arts and Crafts built style period home in the Buffalo NY USA region circa 1915. Overall drop from ceiling canopy to the bottom of the small satellite shades is 34″, The distance from the ceiling canopy to the top of the large center fixture is 12″, the height of the large center fixture is 8″, the width across the large center fixture at the top which is the widest point is 16″, the distance from the from the top of the large center fixture to the bottom of the satellite fixtures is 15 1/4″, the width of the satellite fixtures is 4 3/4″. It appears to have Carmel or Cream and Green Color Slag Glass Panels. It has 20 Panels, which are staggered with Slag Glass and has a 1 Skirt with Slag Glass and Metal Detailing. It measures 20 in diameter x 9 Tall. There is a Small Metal Nameplate attached to the inside that reads, SPECTRUM. It is in Good pre-owned condition. Recent estate find, had to outbid a few guys but I could not resist purchasing this very unusual flared wing design lamp and shade. I have to say that through all my years of collecting I have rarely, if ever, seen such a rare and unique slag glass shade as this one. This lamp stands out among the many different styles that we see in the usual market place.. Sure to catch your eye. The lamp stands 19 1/2′ tall and believe it or not it is 16 1/2 from tip to tip. The lamp itself is a chocolate brown color in mint condition…. It has a single socket and pull chain. The eight panel shade has such a standout design that is complemented by its condition. The filigree, shade runners and top holder are in mint condition see pictures. The filigree and slag glass panels are free from cracks or breaks as far as I can see. Arts Crafts Leaded Slag Glass Antique Vintage Lamp Bradley Hubbard Handel Era nr
This is a full sized lamp measuring in at 23 inches tall with the shade being 19 inches wide. I would call this lamp a Pittsburgh even though it is unsigned. The base I’m quite certain is Pittsburgh and as such the shade would be as well because they are just too dead on not to be. The base with a three socket cluster all working nicely and there is not damage to report as well. The base in original patina throughout however its been rewired with plastic wire at some point in its life. If the new owner would like to have it rewired with proper period style cloth cord we can make that happen. Please ask after the sale in reference to this extra work. As for the shade that is also in very nice overall condition. Great quality glass and form and as you can see it lights up very very nicely. A stray tight age crack here or there, I counted two but there may be three total and they are very tight and not going anywhere for another 100 years. Of course if you would like to pick it up at my location that is welcome as well. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers.
