Antique Art Nouveau Blue 8 Panel Slag Glass Table Lamp Signed
American 1st quarter of the 20th century blue slag glass table lamp. The blue slag glass has some light purple colors running through it. Filigree frame work with basket and flower design. Blue slag glass color when lamp is turned off and glass looks more carmel color when lamp is turned on. Iron base and white metal column and shade. Patinated finish in a very dark green color. The photos make it look almost black but it’s not. Double socket with pull chains. Makers mark on bottom of base appears to be a Y over two R’s encircled and a #1712. Hand cut, rough cut edges to glass panels. Wiring has been updated and replaced at sometime. In very good used antique working condition. There are no breaks or cracks to the glass panels. There is a dent on the column post of base. There is some age appropriate wear to the finish of the base. See last two photos of this. Please see all photos as they are part of the description also. This is a Rare Antique Working Signed “Handel” Slag Glass Art Nouveau Electric Table Lamp, made in the USA, during the early 1920′s by the Handel Lamp Company Meriden, Connecticut USA. The Base is Gold Gilded Cast Iron, with a Nice Patina and 3 3/4 Fitter Diameter. It is Signed Underneath “Handel”, as pictured. The Ornate Pyramid Style Slag Glass Shade has Four Caramel Slag Glass Larger Upper Panels, with Four Rectangular Lower Glass Panels in a Metal Art Deco Tercota Overlay. The Lamp Measures approx. The Shade has a 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ Base Diameter, with a Height of approx. The Shade is in Great Condition with the Original Finish, and is the Correct Original Shade for the Lamp. Antique Signed Rainaud Slag Glass Gilt Silhouette Table Lamp. Tiffany, Handel Era
THIS IS A GORGEOUS WARM GREEN SLAG GLASS “SILHOUETTE” TABLE LAMP. THE LAMP HAS 6 PANELS AND IS A BIT HEAVY! THIS LAMP IS CIRCA. LATE 1910′S AND ON THE BOTTOM IT IS SIGNED “RAINAUD” AND NUMBERED. THE SOCKETS ARE A DOUBLE CHAIN PULL. THE SHADE HAS 6 PANELS OF GREEN SWIRLED SLAG GLASS WITH GILDED METAL OVERLAY. THE OVERLAY HAS A SCROLLED DESIGN THAT GIVES THE SHADE A “SILHOUETTE” LOOK WHEN IT IS LIT. TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE SHADE IN THE IN THE 7TH PHOTO, YOU WILL SEE A FEW OLD REPAIRS AND REGILDING TO THE METAL THAT HAVE HELD UP WELL. THERE ARE A FEW SEAMS IN THE METAL ON THE FILIGREE OVERLAY. THE SLAG COLORING IS REALLY NEAT BECAUSE WHEN THE LAMP IS LIT IT CHANGES COLOR BY ADDING YELLOWS. THE BASE HAS THE ORIGINAL FLAME FINIAL, AND THE DARK METAL HAS FADED GILT ACCENTS. THE RIBBED COLUMNS ON THE BASE SPIN. ALL OF THE SLAG GLASS PIECES ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. ALL OF THE ELECTRIC IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION, HOWEVER WHEN THE LAMP WAS REWIRED THEY KEPT THE ORIGINAL SOCKETS, AND THE CHAIN PULL WITH THE BRASS CHAIN CAN COME LOOSE IF YOU PULL IT WITH TOO MUCH FORCE. (IT JUST PUSHES BACK INTO PLACE) BOTH SOCKETS HAVE SLIGHT MOVEMENT. AGAIN THIS PIECE CARRIES A BIT OF WEIGHT! THE LAMP BASE MEASURES 23 1/4 TALL TO THE TOP FINIAL, AND THE SHADE IS APPROX. Period Art Deco Signed Rainaud Carmel Slag Glass Table Lamp
Here is a period, Art Deco, signed, Rainaud 8 panel, carmel slag glass table lamp with it’s original verde-green metal base. The base and the finial are of a classic style and all original to the lamp. The lamp from the top to bottom measures, 23 1/2 inches. The shade is 18 inches in diameter. The shade shows prior repair. Antique Slag Glass Electric Lamp Shade Signed Unknown Base Edwardian Style Work
The shade has 6 caramel slag glass panels. The diameter of the shade is 16 inches and a height of 5 inches. The lamp base stands 20 inches tall the base is 8 inches in diameter. The base is marked , I don`t know the mark, it is a Orb with appears to be back to back B`s. I couldn`t find the maker associated with the mark, but did find an identical lamp shade , base and mark on the internet, they were wanting to know who the maker was also. Nobody seemed to know who the maker was. The lamp base has been rewired part way, the lamp works, no broken pieces. The metal is nonmagnetic, the base appears to be cast brass. The base has alternating panels of tulips and ruffles. The 2 light sockets have pull chains. There does appear to be any repairs or damage to the lamp. The metal frame of the shade is a pattern of garlands and ribbons. The top finial of the lamp does come off. Most of these Handel lamps that I have seen out there have periwinkle designs. This one is quite different with a band of red cherry flowers! Nice lamp with lots of color and a super cool design of Handel Co. In that lamp shade used very an expensive slag glass which calls — ” sunset/surise” slag glass. 18″ diameter shade, 22″ tall. I see no cracks, it looks like an excellent condition. The copper wash style base has a beautiful -like finish. It has its original old 3 Hubbell sockets with their original porcelain interiors and acorn ended pull chains. It has been wired with plastic style cord and a nice looking old plug and the lamp comes ready to use and enjoy. Please look at picture # 10— lamp shade signed, has original metal tag “HANDEL”!!!
