Spectacular and RARE Antique HANDEL Slag Glass Table Lamp
Although unmarked it is pictured in the Handel book. The shade has nice slag glass panels with a nice art nouveau floral design. The base of the lamp has a bronze shaft. It’s in excellent condition with no damage and is in excellent working condition. Had a new cord put on back in the 1950s or 1960s and it’s still very good. There are a few clips missing on the inside of shade but the glass is held strongly in. The shade measures about 16.5″ wide and the entire lamp is about 19.5″ tall. Pictured on page in Defalco Book on Handel lamps. Again, we cannot find and markings on shade or base. We can only go by reference book. This is an un marked lamp believed to be a Handel from reference books. As handel did not always sign their base and shades sometimes it’s hard to guarantee authenticating. Extremely Rare Antique 12 panel early 1900s Slag glass scenic copper lamp shade
Antique 12 Panel Slag Glass And Metal Lamp Shade In the Way of Empire Style Research shows shade made in the 1920′s 6 copper panels each panel divided into 2 for each panel, making it a total of 12 pieces of slag glass held in place by metal clips soldered to the metal frame overlay. At their widest point each measures 8.5. 8″ tall, 10″ when measured from top of cap to bottom of shade. Slag glass is caramel in color with striatians of dark tan and dark beige. 2 pieces of slag glass broken but pieces are included. This Hexagon shade has an Overlay/Frame of a Scenic outdoor landscape. Each vertical Metal border of the framework has beaded detail. Sale is for lamp shade only. Huge & Rare 30 BRADLEY & HUBBARD Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Lamp c. Huge & Rare 30 BRADLEY & HUBBARD Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Lamp , circa 1920. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a very rare and large B. Radley and Hubbard slag glass lamp, with the triangle on the underside of the base. It is the largest size of table lamp made by B & H, see my photo for an average sized Handel comparison. It is 28 inches tall and the shade is 26 inches wide. All the glass without damage and great coloration, the hand-wrought bronzed and riveted metalwork of the shade also without any breaks or damage. The base recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and in fine working order. The sockets all original and are signed Bryant. The base appears to have been professionally repainted, with a green undercoat, and various mixed metallic paints. This is only one of 3 examples of this highly-desirable lamp that I have seen. Shade has 14″, lamp is 21″ tall. Probably it was oil lamp but later was converted in an electric lamp. Has very nice an original patina with around “frog skin” spots/oxidation. I was advised by Chicago famous repair leaded stained glass store/shop — those slag glass panels were made in special method / sanding glass panels/ and it is so an expensive in that time. All parts are original. As you could look on a last picture from abook by Paul Crist “Mosaic Shades, Volume II” , page 78 very similar lamps to mine. Rare Cranberry Swirl Victorian Banquet curved slag glass lamp shade. Five Curved panels encased in ornate canning with Rose and fleur-de-lis design. Very good vintage condition, no cracks or chips. Vintage Antique French Empire Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade AS IS PLEASE RARE
Up for consideration is Vintage Antique French Empire Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade. We had it listed and ended it; considered trying to put it on a base but have decided sell it as is. It is in fair estate condition. There one slag glass convex piece that has damage but it has been repaired (see photos). It is securely set in the frame and seams well repaired. We are hoping someone has the talent to repair. The white shade has many scratches and is optional (see photos). There are four hooks that attach to the top skirt of the shade.
