Vintage & Rare Bent Slag Glass Table Lamp (Please Read Description)
Vintage & Rare Slag Glass Table Lamp. A beautiful and rare 8 panel, bent slag glass table lamp. The glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The larger bent panels are cream and caramel colored while the smaller panels are kiwi green with streaks of cream. Structurally, the metal frame is in excellent condition There is one loose piece on the underside of the shade that supports the slag glass. It’s minor and the glass it supports is still very secure. The grape vine filigree is delicate and beautifully detailed. The majority of the design is framed into the lower half that has the kiwi green glass. The design climbs out onto the caramel colored glass with a couple of leaves and two vines making their appearance. A very fun and unique idea. There are a few minor issues with this lamp. One of the panels has a smaller piece of the leaf filigree missing, while two panels have the larger leaf filigree pieces missing. The metal also has some wear along the spine. There also appears to be slight lean in the shade if you look hard enough. I believe this comes from one of the support pieces that holds the slag glass. It has a slight arch to it. The top of the lamp shade has a metal crown. Doesn’t appear to be bent or damaged. The shade measures 17 1/2″ in diameter by 9″ high. The base is in good shape. Structurally it has no issues. Cosmetically, The paint has a good amount of flaking on it. It stands 21 1/2 high on its own without the shade. The base is 7 3/4 in diameter. There is a stamp on the bottom which is 1672. I could not find any information on this stamp. The total height of the lamp with the shade is 22 1/2 high. There are no marks from any of these makers on this lamp, with the exception of “1672″ stamped into the bottom of the base. It’s all original, untouched and the craftsmanship is something to be admired. It’s not perfect, but it’s A very unique and beautifully colored lamp that would look amazing anywhere in your home. The lamp has been professional rewired. The socket inner has been updated and the casing kept to preserve original. The base is VERY heavy and has great patina and beautiful when lit up. As you can see in the pictures, some surface pitting on the base light cover. The lamp shade is 8 sided and all panels are in great shape. I can not see any cracks. Colors are blue and beige. Overall the filigree is in good shape, however, some soldering or welds need to be done as you can see in the pictures, so it is structurally sound. I would not recommend placing the shade on till the repairs are done. The shade is very heavy also. The finale is not original. Would love to keep it, but lots of kids and dogs. Need I say more! Vintage Antique French Empire Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade AS IS PLEASE RARE
Up for consideration is Vintage Antique French Empire Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade. We had it listed and ended it; considered trying to put it on a base but have decided sell it as is. It is in fair estate condition. There one slag glass convex piece that has damage but it has been repaired (see photos). It is securely set in the frame and seams well repaired. We are hoping someone has the talent to repair. The white shade has many scratches and is optional (see photos). There are four hooks that attach to the top skirt of the shade.
