This unique piece is a vintage Art Deco “Siesta” lamp, often attributed to makers like Houze Glass (Houzex) or Akro Agate, dating from the 1930s to 1940s. It features a classic “Pancho” or sleeping Mexican man leaning against a saguaro cactus, crafted from translucent blue slag/milk glass. Design: A figural base depicting a man in a sombrero taking a “siesta” next to a tall cactus. Material: Pressed slag glass (also known as marble glass) in a striking sky blue. When lit, the glass has a warm, ethereal glow. Shade: The matching blue glass shade has a “coolie” or UFO shape with distinct vertical ribbing. It attaches via a “clip-on” wire fitter directly onto the bulb. Dimensions: Based on your photos, the lamp stands approximately 11.5 to 12 inches tall to the top of the finial, with a shade diameter of about 8.5 inches. This lamp has been professionally updated for daily use while maintaining its 1930s charm. Modernized Wiring: The old, hazardous cloth/rubber wiring has been replaced with a clean, flexible brown PVC zip-cord. Upgraded Plug: Features a modern polarized plug (one prong wider than the other). This ensures the lamp is properly grounded when plugged into modern household outlets, significantly reducing the risk of electrical shock. This lamp is made very solid and nice. It has the 8 globe shade included. Brand new wiring and a vintage new Leviton roller switch. The light socket is porcelain. The colors are gorgeous. The main body slag glass alternates between cream butterscotch to caramel to bourbon. It has four tulip style flors in different color from red, blue, pink and green. One of the golden yellow scallops at the bottom has a very faint crack in it. The diameter is 16″ across and about 14.5″ tall including the crown. There is ample chain and cord. The chain is about 14.5′ long withe the cord being an additional 4′ long. Completely cleaned and serviced and read to plug and play. This lamp could easily be made to be hardwired as a hanging ceiling lamp. If you have questions just message me.

Vintage Lighthouse style base metal table lamp with ornate swag glass from the 1920′s. This lamp is distinguished by a central decorative section with blue slag glass set behind an intricate metal framework. The lamp was restored in 2015 and has been securely stored since then. It has been rewired, however the metal finish remains as found. It has a 3-way switch system, new extra long cord, new socket, new shade, and new finial. This specific design lamp has a light up base, meaning the lower column glows independently or along side the main bulb. This is a rare find!!! It measures 10″ in diameter at base and 6″ wide at the blue glass. Cord is approximately 96 in length. The base is 18 tall to the bottom of the socket. With socket included it is 21 tall. The shade is 10″ tall by 13″ in diameter.
