Up for consideration is this Rare Beautiful Vintage Victorian Art Nouveau Six Panel Convex Caramel Slag Glass Shade on Antique Double Socket Base with Base Mounted Switch Table Lamp. It is in very good to excellent vintage estate condition. This lamp base and shade have been married. The base is antique and features a base mounted switch. The shade is probably early mid century. There are no chips or breaks in any of the slag glass. Please view all photos carefully as they are a part of the item description. It measure approximately 14.5 inches wide at shade, 5.5 inches square at base and 20 inches tall. Thanks for viewing our listing! The panels are very easy to reinstall. Each has metal holding them in place and a jaxs style nut that holds each in place. We do ask that caution is used when reinstalling not to tighten the nuts too type or the glass will break. I will NOT have this around long. Price will be CUT to sell fast. This is a beautifully preserved antique Slag Glass Lamp. I could NOT find any makers marks… But it certainly looks like a MILLER. If your knowledgable and would like to share, please reach out! 7 Across the base. One and only one shortcoming… The FINIAL is not correct, or going down all the way (see pictures). NO cracks in the glass. NO missing metal pieces. NO rust, dust or oxidation. The shade is excellent… NO wobbly or loose pieces. NO repairs or alterations. I put a green bulb in it.. And it looks GREAT in my living room… Electrical is in great shape–NO need to rewire. It was likely rewired, many years ago… There are NO significant flaws to point out. NO other missing pieces. I can tell this was not moved around or handled that much in all its years. Its a FINE example that will satisfy the most demanding of tastes. Absolutely Nothing cheap about this.. Ornate Antique Old Victorian Silver Gorham Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is an outstanding example of Gorham’s work in stained glass table lamps. Just look at the detail in the shade….. And the matching base! This lamp is one that was specifically made this way, with exactly matching base and shade. The emblems on the shade are exactly matched to those in the base. The quality is second to none, with extremely fine lead lines and a great selection of glass. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here since I cannot describe this lamp any better. What I will say is the lamp looks just as good lit as it does unlit, but lighting it does bring out some of the subtitles in the glass. As for size the shade is 17″ in diameter and the lamp stands about 22″ tall. It is silver plated on the leading and in the base. The details in the emblems are just wonderful and these are repeated in the base. I see maybe 10-15 small cracks, mostly in the red glass behind the emblems, The base has 4 matching Paulding labeled sockets with their original porcelain interiors and acorn ended pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. I have seen many Gorham lamps but have not come across this exact one before. It may have been a special order for a wedding or some gift or something….. But suffice it to say that there can’t be many out here like it. It is a beautiful example of their work. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times.
