The ornate overlay on the lamp shade is made of aluminum and features an eagle with spread wings above three doves flanked by cornucopias filled with apples. Possibly a comemorative piece. This lamp is in good used condition. It appears to be all original with its original cord. Everything works as it should. There is a small crack in the metal as seen in the last picture. RARE Antique APOLLO STUDIOS Tree Trunk Copper Lamp Base SLAG GLASS Arts & Crafts
ARTS & CRAFTS MOVEMENT ERA. SLAG GLASS & COPPER SHADE. This is a very RARE and BEAUTIFUL antique lamp. This lamp is from my personal collection. I have downsized and do not have a place for this lamp. Therefore, it needs to find a new home. It is in overall, great condition. It has been rewired. The lamp does work as it should including the pull chains. The pull chains have the original acorns on the ends. The copper has a great patina of age. The slag glass is original. One of the thin pieces of glass around the perime. Ter of the shade has a crack (please refer to the photo for details). I always had that panel facing the wall so no one ever noticed. Otherwise, NO cracks or breaks to the rest of the glass. The shade leans just very slightly. The lamp is an overall 18 tall. The base of the lamp is 8 in diameter. The shade is 17.5″ in diameter from point to point and 14.5″ in diameter from straight panel to straight panel. In my 35 years of collecting, I’ve never seen another Apollo Studios lamp with a tree trunk base! Please take a look at the photos for details and consider them part of the description. Antique Rare SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP STATUE OF LIBERTY ELLIS ISLAND STEAM SHIPS
An early 20th century cast iron lamp with Miller Statue of Liberty slag glass shade, illegibly signed but for the maker’s location, “Chicago”, the base with classical ornament and supporting a slender vase form column surmounted by a Miller “Statue of Liberty” slag glass shade. Base now painted green and with losses, shade is not a perfect fit with the ring, must be carefully centered prior to tightening the finial, glass good, later ring soldered to top, one rib on shade with split, minor bends ACCESSORIES: Lamp Base. 24.5 x 19.25 in. Absolutely stunning handmade table lamp with ornate filigree detail throughout the metal work and gradient beige amber/caramel random veins color slag glass. Very nice lighting effect. The bronze central pillar (does not look like spelter) is a sweet cherub with both hands folded behind his head and looking at the nice openwork base with leaf pattern and detailed elements, in harmony with the shade motif. RARE ANTIQUE OLD LEADED SLAG STAINED GLASS HANDEL TIFFANY STYLE LAMP c. 1905
For your consideration is this absolutely large leaded floral lamp made by Handel. This company made very few leaded lamps and those that it did make are of super high quality and highly desirable. This one is absolutely beautiful…. The lamp is constructed with great glass that really fires up when lit. The huge 18.5 diameter shade consists of granite backed and regular glass arranged with a white floral pattern apron against a two-toned green petal background. Adding to the quality of the shade is the use of bent glass pieces which were much more difficult to do and required more time. The shade rests on a wonderful 2-socket “gooseneck” base with embossed base. This is one of Handel’s finest bases, is solid bronze (and not copper plated pot metal which most were), and has a prominent HANDEL tag leaded into the underside. The base stands an impressive 25 tall. Although unsigned, I have copied a page out of Paul Crist’s Mosaic Shades II book that shows a nearly identical shade with yellow flowers and the same dual colored green leaf background. The condition of the lamp is good. With minor cracks in the glass (to be expected on a shade as large as this), no repairs, and all original finish. The lamp has been wired with period style cord and an old period plug, and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you have been looking for a great example of Handel’s work, this is the one for you. They don’t get much better than this in terms of color , so don’t let this one pass you by. You can return it up to 30 days.. So have a piece of mind when shopping greekflyboy1964!
