1910 Art Nouveau Caramel Slag Glass Shade & Open Work Metal Overlay Table Lamp
This listing is for a circa 1910 Art Nouveau handsome slag glass metal overlay table lamp. The lamp measures 21 1/2 inches or 54.6cm high to the top of the shade and, the shade is 13 3/4 inches or 35cm wide. The shade consists of 6 large panels and 6 small rectangular panels above it, and each panel consists of a caramel color glass. All the glass is held in place by clips on the inside. The outside of the shade has a beautiful metal overlay. The overlay is ornate and beautiful with its open work floral wreaths and connecting swags and bows. The shade framework is unusually heavy and not like the normal thin overlay on some of these shades. The base is round with 3 open work Art Nouveau stylized arches and a scrolling line design. The lamp has a single pull chain socket. The lamp is in very good condition with only some minor wear to the original gilt patina. There is also one of the smaller panels of glass has a crack right in the center but has been repaired and one tip of the fancy metal frame is missing. This is along the top part of the shade decoration. Please see the many photos for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description. A very handsome lamp. This listing is for a circa 1910 handsome slag glass metal overlay table lamp. The lamp measures 23 1/4 inches or 59cm high to the top of the finial and, the shade is 16 1/2 inches or 42cm in diameter. The shade consists of 8 panels. Each panel consists of a caramel color glass which is slightly curved. All the glass is held in place by clips on the inside. The outside of the shade has a beautiful metal overlay. The overlay is ornate and beautiful with its open work floral and lattice design. The base is round with a slightly scalloped edge and has an undulating standard with diamond pattern. Antique Vintage Arts & Crafts Handel Leaded Slag Glass Overlay Panel Lamp NR
Here’s a great 2-tone Handel overly slag glass panel lamp. Fantastic brickwork and loop design done with green/yellow/white glass in the upper panels and orange/red in the apron. Glass is free of cracks or chips and all of the metal filigree is present and accounted for. The shade is 18″ in diameter and the lamp stands 23 1/3″ tall. The shade is signed in the ring as shown and the base is prominently stamped HANDEL on the underside (also as shown). Finish is brass wash and both shade and base match perfectly….. This was not a marriage as many out there are. The base has its original long Hubbell sockets with their original porcelain interiors and acorn ended pull chains. It has been wired with period style gold cloth braided cord and a nice looking old plug and the lamp comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a very nice example of Handel’s overlay work. Vtg Arts & Crafts Signed HANDEL Slag Glass Leaded Overlay Single Bulb Lamp Shade. 5 1/4 wide, 4 7/8 tall. Fitter is 2 1/8 diameter. Antique art glass lamp shade. Six panels of curved glass with metal overlay. It is signed HANDEL on the metal near the top fitter. There is no damage to the glass. Has a hairline split to the metal fitter thats not structurally significant. There is some damage to the metal at bottom of two panels. And the vertical piece that connects them needs re soldered. Please view my other lighting. 1920′s slag glass lamp. The lamp’s hexagonal shade has 12 panels of slag glass. The lamp is about16 tall. The shade is about 5 1/2″ tall and measures about 8″ side to side (9 diagonally point to point). The paulding socket has a 1926 patent date. The wiring and on-off switch have been replaced at some point and are in good condition. The lamp works well and it is ready to use….. You will never be charged more than the listed charge.
