It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. We are not for certain if all the shade slag glass is original (see photos). All of the decorative metal is in tact. It features a round reverse image shade rest for shade fitter (see photos). There are areas of corrosion, patina or tarnish and scratches on the metal (see photos). Antique Bent Green Slag Glass Lamp Chicago Empire Co. Miller Bradley & Hubbard
This is a wonderful heavy Bronze and Green Bent Slag Glass lamp by Chicago Empire Co. The lamp stands 21 1/2 inches tall on its neatly sculpted 7 1/2 inch base. The lamp weighs over 15 pounds. The Beautiful Green Bent Slag glass shade is all complete with no cracks or chips and is called Morning Glory on Trellis and is 17 or 18 1/2 inches in diameter, depending on where measured. It is 7 inches tall. There is one very small part of the casting in the top of the overlay that was missing in the cast. If I did not mention it you would not notice it, but I want to be accurate. The finish on the lamp is all there and the Bronze metal base and ribbed column have a great variegated green bronze finish to it. I find no markings on the lamp however, it is pictured in their old lamp catalogs. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly. Just a really beautiful lamp for your home or desk. Antique Empire Of Chicago 1910 Green Slag Glass Table Lamp Morning Glories on Trellis Open Work Design. Size: 22.5″ t × 18″ at widest point. Beautiful curved marbled green slag glass with morning glories and trellis open work design. One slag panel is cracked and is only noticeable upon close inspection-see picture. Cast metal open work design is gold tone in color. There is a small missing piece of cast metal one work on the top- see picture. Panels are held in via the bottom with folding metal tabs. All tabs look to be present and one table looks replaced. Lamp has two sockets. One socket is missing it’s chain for turning on and off. Lights looks like it may of been rewired at one time. Lamp base surface has wearing from cleaning. Not sure if finial is original or replacement. This item is large, heavy and delicate. Please see pictures and feel free to ask questions. Empire Slag Glass Panel Lamp with Floral Filigree
Here is a nice old Empire slag glass lamp with amber and white glass panels. I have included a scan of a page from an Empire catalog showing this lamp–only the finial is different. The lamp has its original antique brass finish–I think that on the shade is better than that on the base. There is one of the eight sections of the shade where the inside edges are uneven or rough–I have shown this in a close-up photo. The base has its original sockets with “saturn” pulls. Please note that one of the pull chains has been joined with a coupler right near the socket. The base has been rewired with period correct cloth covered cord. Beautiful Slag Glass Lamp Shade! EMPIRE OF CHICAGO 1920′s
This is a gorgeous Empire Slag Glass Lamp Shade. It measures about 20 inches in diameter from point to point. ” About 18 1/2 inches “flat to flat. This shade was made in Chicago, IL in the 1920′s by the Empire Lamp Company. (Please see last 3 pictures taken from an Empire Lamp Company Catalog) This shade is a two tone Copper/Bronze color with 8 panels. The condition is excellent. Up for consideration is Vintage Antique French Empire Slag Glass Hanging Lamp Shade. We had it listed and ended it; considered trying to put it on a base but have decided sell it as is. It is in fair estate condition. There one slag glass convex piece that has damage but it has been repaired (see photos). It is securely set in the frame and seams well repaired. We are hoping someone has the talent to repair. The white shade has many scratches and is optional (see photos). There are four hooks that attach to the top skirt of the shade.
