RARE- Antique Red, Gold Slag Glass Arts & Crafts/Mission Lamp early 1900's

Rare and beautiful, from my parents estate I offer for your consideration this wonderful large mission arts and craft table lamp. It is a large lamp The shade measures approximately 12 inches from top to bottom, approximately 22 inches wide and the base of the lamp is 16 inches tall not counting the four wooden holders that holds the lampshade. The lamp is in very good shape for its age. I see that it had been rewired for there is a new socket on the lamp. The slag glass is in really nice shape. A long the rim of the shade you have a heart shaped in the center with smaller openings for slag glass. There are tiny cracks, on the four sides. You have to look real hard to find them. This is truly a beautiful mission Arts and craft styled lamp. Please look at all pictures very closely for they are part of the description. Please enlarge pictures so you can get a good view of everything. Please give me your information and I will try to get a quote for you. EARLY 20TH CENTURY CARAMEL & AQUAMARINE SIGNED RAINAUD SLAG GLASS LAMP JAPANESE GARDEN SCENE. Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We’re a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients. With our highest compliments and honor we’re proud to offer for sale this magnificent early 20th century signed Rainaud 6 panel slag glass lamp with fire gilt floral Art Nouveau base and Japanese garden scene shade. Rainaud lamps were made in Meriden Connecticut, alongside others such as Handel, Bradley & Hubbard, and Miller. The United states wasn’t fully electrified until the 1930′s. Superseding this time electric lamps & lighting were reserved for the wealthier families. Lamp makers recognized this and began making lesser toned down versions everyday people could afford. This is the reason why every Handel isn’t worth 5k. This lamp is much nicer than any Rainaud we’ve seen on the market. Once the company moved towards more mass produced lamps they started branding them “RAINAUD”. This lamp is signed under the base with a stylized “R” we believe to be one of his earliest marks. The base is fire gilt in a process that affixes a small amount of gold to the metal giving it it’s luster. The lamp has an overall faux bamboo ornamentation with lilly flower and exotic vegetation. The shade depicts a tranquil Japanese garden scene with cranes, arbor, and a footbridge over water. Caramel or amber glass are the most frequently used shade in lamp making. Miller put it simply, It’s the easiest on the eye and best for reading. The 6 caramel slag glass panels make up the sky with 6 lovely aquamarine sunset panels for the water. There’s an extensive use of embossed metals & filigree to create a wonderful Japanese garden scene. The lamp is 25″ tall with a diameter of 17.5″ at the shade. Our warehousing facility located at 190 Chestnut St. Convenient downtown location just minutes away from I-91 and I-90 Masspike. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. Offered is this breathtakingly beautiful top-quality antique. Mission Arts and Crafts Slag Glass Oil Lamp in original condition and dating from the early 1900s. Standing an impressive 2 feet in height, the handsome solid oak base and trim is in amazingly-preserved condition given the age. The contrasting emerald green slag glass and oak shade does have one pane with a very old crack (looks like a repair was attempted long ago; see close-up photo for detail). Nonetheless, the lamp displays beautifully despite the flaw and is quite solid and sturdy. The lamp including its oil tank has NOT been drilled or electrified; the light socket and cord seen are NOT permanent and can easily be removed if you wish to add a wick and use it as an oil lamp. The lamp can also be permanently electrified if desired. Due to its fragility, the lamp will be professionally packaged to ensure safety in transit. The item “Early 1900s Antique Mission Arts and Crafts Slag Glass Oil Lamp Stickley Era” is in sale since Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Antique Miller Slag Glass Lamp with Eight panels, Early shade Handel Era

Antique Miller Slag Glass Lamp with Eight panels, Early shade Handel Era. This is a large signed Miller Company Lamp. The shade is a magnificent eight panel with extensive intact filigree. The shade is attributed to Imperial Lamp and Glass, no cracks or breaks. Shade is 18 c to c, all metal work intact, very extensive. It appears to be rewired recently but should always be checked, works fine, see pictures. As you can understand this is a very heavy base and shade due to metal work. My (guess) is that the shade could very possibly be original to the lamp. I will be listing some top end lamps that I have available. We invite questions to be asked at any time!!!!
