Goodwin & Kintz Leaded Slag Stained Glass Arts & Crafts Lamp Base Handel Era
Here’s a nice, large, floral themed lamp base by Goodwin & Kintz. I had never heard of this company before, but Paul Crist’s book Mosaic Shades dedicates a full section to it and even has this exact base, cap and all, shown (see last image). Its a great looking base suitable for a high quality shade. The repeating floral design on the bottom is really quite nice. 25 1/2″ total height, 9 3/4″ diameter at the bottom. Shade rest is 3″ in diameter and cap is 3 1/2″ in diameter. Looks all original including matching sockets, fancy cast cap and finial. I see no major dents, dings or even serious scratches. The original base was damaged, with one leg of footed base broken off. I replace it with the wood base shown. Up for consideration is this Awesome Antique Art Nouveau Goose Neck Distressed Detailed Adjustable Gooseneck with Couple Embracing at Base Table Desk Lamp with Uranium Glass on Added/Repurposed Hand Carved Dark Rose Colored Hardwood Asian Base (originally would have been for vase display/stand) and Darker Green Slag Glass Tulip Shade. It features a socket based pull chain and inline on/off switch. It is in excellent vintage antique estate condition. There are areas of patina or tarnish (see photos). Up for consideration is this Rare Awesome Antique Bridge Arm Table Desk Bankers Lamp Featuring Beige Cream Marble Base and Slag Glass Ball Accent and Adjustable (unsigned) French Art Glass Shade. It features socket based turn on/off switch. It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. I converted the from floor lamp to table lamp. There are areas of patina or tarnish of the base and shade frame (see photos). There are small flea bite chips at shade fitter but are hidden when applied to fitter (see photos). There is a spot on the bottom of shade that looks like a crack, but it is a scratch. There are photos of both sides of the glass, inside and out, verifying it’s not cracked (see photos). The shade is French but the signing is missing. Please view all photos carefully as they are a part of the item description. It measures approximately 14 inches front of shade to back of base on back side as shown in gallery photo, 8.5 inches square for base 4 inches square for shade and 22.5 inches tall.
