Bigelow Kennard Lamp, Slag Glass, Leaded Shade, Arts Crafts, Handel Lamp Era
Up for consideration is a nice Bigelow Kennard double shade student lamp. The base stands 21 1/4 tall and is 11 1/2 wide socket edge to socket edge. The foot is 6 1/2 in Dia. The base is solid bronze with a weighted brass base and is unsigned which a lot of Bigelow bases are. Weber Turnkey Sockets with original interiors. Original old felted bottom. The shades are unsigned Bigelow Kennard and are shown on Leaded lamps web site. The shades are very nice. Each shade is 4 1/2 tall and 7 wide with a 2 1/2 metal top marked Hubbell with a threaded hole that is 1 1/4. The shades are held on the sockets by uno threaded washers on the socket ends which I think look better then the snap ring that shows from the top side of the shade. The shades are in good condition. One shade has a couple tight heat cracks and the other has about twelve with a very small Leaded edge missing. All cracks are tight and no missing glass. I took one picture with that shade under light so you can see. Both shades have that great Clam broth white back ground glass and a green and Amber floral border. This lamp I think is pretty rare since Ive never seen a Bigelow Student lamp. I took a lot of pictures which is part of the description. If you have questions or need pictures please let me know. RARE Unique Art Glass Co. Leaded lamp Handel Tiffany Arts Crafts slag era
One of a kind Unique Art Glass Co. Couple of reasons this lamp is special, 1 the colors used, normally unique shades were green blends for leaves, this has that Fall Season coloring to the leaves. The Base, this comes from Mosaic Shades 2: page 41 about early Unique Arts Bases:Unique appears to have also experimented with many other different types of bases, including some white metal such as electro formed copper over plaster! This came from an estate in Michigan. Which also had great wealth and prosperity due to the Auto industry in the early part of the century. Base is in fine condition as well. Shade is as said very old, some old repairs evident around aperture. It’s old and condition reflects that – beats a reproduced ones that have flooded the market. Has the flat strap border around the bottom of the skirt. Lamp stands 23 tall. Shade 17″ x 8″ deep. Wired with twisted cloth black cord. Lamp is complete base finial cap shade all Unique. Presented for your consideration a Fabulous Pair of Early 20th Century Antique 4 Panel Caramel Bent Slag Glass Boudoir Table Lamps. The lamps are in extra fine original condition. No breaks, cracks or damage noted in the cast metal work or glass panels. The wiring is original with brittle places in the plastic along the electrical cord. Please Note For safety reasons, the wiring needs to be checked by a professional and replaced prior to use. The lamps feature a Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau/Art Deco period designs with a two piece construction. The lids have four panels of slag glass and a finial at the top, and rest on the bases. The matching bases also have four slag glass panels, a round turning switch knob near the bottom and a flared foot with period shell designs. The slag glass panels are light caramel in color and the metal work frames are toned with age in a darkened bronze color and a warm silver-tone finish. A pretty hand made vintage mid- century swag hanging leaded glass lamp. I looked it over and found one faint hairline crack that I could not capture in a photo but wanted to mention. The globe hangs a little loose but works fine and I’m not sure if it is suppose to be that way or not. 16.5″ wide x 11″ tall with a 10ft chain and the cord is a little bit longer than that. Nice mid- century colors for your mid- century decor. Has a thumb switch. Awesome Antique Arts & Crafts Table Lamp Cream Beige Bent Slag Glass Shades
For consideration is this Beautiful Awesome Arts and Craft Antique Table Lamp featuring Cream or Beige Bent or Curved Convex Slag Glass Shade on Base with Pull Chain Switches on Sockets Base. Because of the way the shades are protected by the strip of metal (see photos), we believe this is a Bradley Hubbard shade but it is not signed. We deal in antique slag glass and have never seen this type of construction, other than Bradley Hubbard. It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. This is another lamp we have married the base and shade. Any person familiar with antique slag glass understands that some times there are imperfections in the glass (see photos). There are no chips or cracks in any of the slag glass (see photos). We found the base in a antique store in Natchez, Mississippi, years ago. Please view all photos carefully as they are a part of the item description. They measure approximately 16 inches in diameter for shade, 8 inches in diameter at base and 21 inches tall for lamps (to top of shades). This also applies to non lower 48, USA locations.
