Rare Miller Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Panel Lamp Patinated Bronze Finish
Up for sale is this very rare form Miller Slag glass panel lamp. Both the base and the shade have a green patination finish. I believe the base has a bronze finish over copper, at least the very bottom section. The shade is most likely spelter or pot metal. This lamp as beautiful as it is has some flaws, most notably there is a pretty sizable dent just underneath the most bulbous section of the base (maybe 3 x 1), it blends very well from a few feet away but jumps out under close inspection and feel. The wiring looks to have been replaced a while back and I would recommend recommend rewiring. I believe two glass panels are replaced, possibly just one, but you will note the lacking of the green hue. Finally on the interior of the shade there is a little sloppiness in the way the joints are connected, could be original, could be part of earlier restoration. Otherwise general and expected wear. Lamp base has an abrasive texture. Please view all 12 photos to help judge condition. Base measures about 17 to Finial top. Shade about 16 diameter. Antique Arts & Crafts Handel / Unique Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very unusual Handel/Unique leaded glass table lamp. I say unusual since I have never seen one with purple flowers. Sure, periwinkle Unique shades are fairly common and this design is pretty standard, but the glass in the one is just over the top fantastic. Both the flowers and even the background glass are very unusual and simply outstanding. Dark greens and blues run throughout this one, with some brighter pieces and even some yellow to make the stems. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any arts & crafts setting. In terms of size, this is not a large lamp but a good sized table lamp. The shade measures 14″ in diameter and the lamp stands 21″ tall. In terms of condition, I see a couple of small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. For those of you who are new to this, the shade was made by Unique and the base is Handel. Neither are signed as was common, but both are guaranteed to be 100% authentic and date from the early 1900′s. Has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. Arts & Crafts R Williamson Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Handel Tiffany Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. Here’s an example of a great looking prairie style R Williamson lamp. I don’t see a lot of these Williamson lamps around and I suspect they didn’t make all that many. This one is not signed, but is has all of the characteristics of a Williamson lamp, and comes with what is in my view their very best base. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here, but will note that the shade is 18″ in diameter and the lamp stands about 24″ tall. The shade is very well built, good and tight, and I see maybe 3 or 4 small cracks. Great selection of colors and design combine to make this a wonderful arts & crafts prairie lamp. The base has all of its original hardware, sockets, cap and finial. It has has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a really nice looking example of R Williamson’s. Work that would be the highlight of any room. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me.
