The base is mainly brass and is heavy. There is a double socket cluster with 2 older pull chain sockets and a new wire. The base decoration features acanthus leaves and a beautiful classical styled column. The shade is made of pieces of lead soldered variegated carmel and white slag glass with a pretty decorative brass filigree border. The shade measures 16 inches wide and is 8 inches high. Its in excellent original condition throughout except for the new sockets we had to put in because the old ones were shot and the cord has been replaced with a modern day plastic one. Other than that, its all original especially the patina which is an excellent sort of light frogskin color. The base measures 25 inches tall with the shade being 19 inches wide. The base without any breaks or cracks to the metalware at all and with a working four socket cluster. This is a lamp i have only seen a couple of times in my 20+ years of lamping. Its a great great design on the base and going up the stem of the base as well, please see photos. This arts and crafts design carries over to the panel support metalwork as well and the same goes for the embossed panels in the shade. The embossing on the outside of the glass also this gives the shade a sort of 3 dimensional look to it. My pictures are not good for this listing as this looks so much better in person. No damage to mention anywhere and in fine working order as well. Simply a great looking and very very seldom seen lamp by maker unknown but of the quality of bradley and hubbard for sure. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2. To sell them and not let my inventory sit around for years on end. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well. Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and no reserves. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. Please Check out my other items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. To all potential buyers. Please feel free to. Chances are if there aren’t any, it’s a newer item and you shouldn’t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. Thanks for your understanding. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. This is a great lamp folks and its in very nice original condition. Maker unknown but of the bradley hubbard/miller quality. Empire would be my best guess. Its without damage and has a super arts and crafts feel to it. Its a supersized lamp with the shade measuring 21 inches across and the base being 28 inches high. Please look at the photo where i have it in comparison to a regular full sized handel that has a 18 inch shade and a 23 inch tall base. All original paint/patina throughout the base and its in fine working order. A little patina loss here and there on the base as to be expected for a 100 year item. As for the shade, there is no missing or broken filigree segments and all glass panels without breaks, cracks, or losses. This is a very heavy and well made shade for sure. The framework of the shade also without any breaks, cracks, or losses. I love the quality of the glass they used back then for the border glass. Its looks way better than my photos are showing and it really sets it off in a room. You might be surprised by what you find. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I have for sale this very nice twice signed handel leaded geometric lamp. Twice signed means both shade and base being properly signed. This is a very nice leaded lamp and its in excellent overall condition. The base measures 23 inches tall and the shade is 18 inches wide. The base without issue, which means no metalware breaks or damage and its in fine working order. It has its original three socket cluster with hubbell sockets and its been recently rewired with correct period style cloth cord. Its also in excellent original patina throughout. The shade in excellent original condition with all pieces of glass present and accounted for. A few stray tight age cracks here or there as would be expected for a leaded shade such as. The glass vibrant and alive as the pictures show and all the leading tight and right throughout. Great glass here folks as handel is well known for with some nice dirt in the striations of the glass. I only used 7.5 watt bulbs to give you some idea how good the glass lights up. The shade well made with the leading showing no signs of weakness nor losses. The shade signed with a handel tag on the lower border and the base signed on the bottom. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2.
