This piece is in beautiful well cared for condition and measures roughly 16.5″ Tall by 6.5″ Wide at the shade. Its free of any chips or cracks. There may be minor surface wear or bending to the metal from age which is to be expected. Please see all photos for details and feel free to ask any questions. There is a 3 way switch so you can light the bottom, the top or both depending on the light and mood you want to set. The lamp is very heavy for it’s size and well made.

Vintage 1920′s Victorian Style Boudoir Slag Glass Polychrome Table Lamp
Offered here is a lovely little 1920′s boudoir sized polychrome table lamp with a fantastic slag glass shade! This little lamp is dripping with character. The base, cast of pot metal or spelter, is nicely molded and sports a wonderful, yet subtle polychrome finish in tones of gold and red. It is stamped on the bottom as shown in photos, but I do not know who made it. It’s a neat base, either way. The slag glass shade is a beautiful caramel color, unlit, and it spectacularly comes to life when illuminated. It looks like a miniature sunset! I couldn’t find any flaws, chips, or cracks of note. Notice the detailed filigree pieces between each panel – nice. The fitter is a standard 2 1/4 inch diameter. The socket is original to the lamp (from the time I acquired it), but the cloth covered wire and insulator are new. The plug is also original to the lamp, and I retained it when rewiring. It is a dense, hard plastic, and has one very tight hairline crack – but it is stable. I tried to flex it with various tools and amounts of pressure to see if it moved at all, but I couldn’t get it to budge. The insulator disc has been replaced. The lamp measures 14 1/2 inches tall to the top of the shade, and the base measures 4 inches by 6 inches.

ANTIQUE BRADLEY & HUBBARD VICTORIAN SLAG GLASS Desk LAMP Rare Small 11-1/2 Size. Estimated age: Early 1900s. Base style indicates #208. Shade fits nicely on base. Originally designed for boudoir or desk. Ornate Filigree Frame on shade. 6 Sided Slag Glass Shade. Base and Shade marked Bradley & Hubbard. Shade: 4-1/2″ Tall x 8-1/2″ Wide. CONDITION : Excellent Antique, No filigree damage, light fully functioning. Exterior cloth on cord is fraying. Small chip in inside of plastic screw where cord meets base. Felt on bottom is detached. Removed to confirm that base was a genuine Bradley & Hubbard. See pic of signature stamp. Small chip on inside only of the slag glass panel. Does not show when lit or from exterior. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. This item came from a prominent estate in Philadelphia. Between 1868 and 1875, Bradley and Hubbard secured 33 patents relating to the design and mechanics of oil burning lamps (in all, the company would eventually patent a total of 238 designs and mechanical devices). The company was reorganized in 1875 as a joint stock company renamed The Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company. Slag glass, a type of opaque, streaked, antique pressed glass that originated in England in the late 19th century, was used in glassware items such as lampshades, jugs, wine glasses and beakers.

The glass is frames with brass and the decoration design looks like roses, see the photos. Shade in good condition for age with no chips or cracks or repairs. In between the panels on the outside there are small decorative points that were broken off at some time. I call all issues see the last photo for this issue. Antique 1920 Jadeite Victorian & Art Deco Floor Lamp with Slag Glass or Tiffany Style Shade. This floor lamp has attractive metal details like cherubs and leaves. It has marbled jadeite glass and a slag glass shade with a beaded fringe. The overall condition is excellent. The lamp has two stunning jade green uranium glass centers, jadeite, with metal stem cupids on the base in golden color. The tulip-shaped slag glass is curved with attractive hanging glass bead edge trim or fringe. The eight-panel caramel slag glass shade has beautiful floral brass filigree work, is solid, and looks great. The lamp has an upgraded power cord and new dual sockets.
