Antique CARAMEL & BLUE SLAG GLASS 8 PANELED TABLE LAMP Signed
Here is a beautiful antique table lamp with an octagon (eight sided) caramel and blue slag glass lamp shade with a metal frame. The lamp measures 23-3/4″ high, the base of the lamp measures 7″ in diameter. The slag glass shade measures 17-1/2″ inches flat side to flat side, point to point measures 19″ wide by 9 high. The base is signed or marked with a shield-like mark with a circle inside of the shield as shown in the photo. I believe this lamp has been rewired, judging by the type of wire and plug used, works fine with pull chain switch, but I always recommend a licensed electrician check this out as the lamp is old. I find no damage, no chips or cracks. I sell antique and vintage items which have been pre-owned, please expect some usage marks here and there consistent with age. Heres a Beautiful Antique Charles Parker Slag Glass Lamp for restoration. Its been painted gold, two brown panels and one green one are broken, most of the. Lower tabs for holding in the glass have been sloppily re-soldered with one having broken off again. The solder has left dark areas on the outside in places (picture 4). Of the 16 little ends of the volutes at the bottom of each shade section, 6 are broken off (picture 3, example). It needs complete re-wiring. Height is approximately 22 and diameter is 17 or 18 and 3/8 depending on where you measure. Marked and numbered underneath, the large base has 2 smooth working pull chain sockets marked P&S (Pass & Seymore) patented. Heavy cast metal features original surface finish. VG with possible later finial. Rewired with period silk covered cord and socket. No broken or cracked slag glass panels. Handel Signed Oak Tree Bronze Base Slag Glass Cabin Lake Scenic Shade Lamp Table
This lamp is in Good working condition. I plugged the lamp in and all 3 sockets work as they should. You pull a chain to turn on 1 or all 3 sockets. One socket is missing its metal outer casing. The finial is also missing on the lamp. The shade is in good condition for its age. The shade has a 6 panel scenic look. The scene is of a cabin with a lake or pond and trees. There are 2 types of slag glass in the shade. There is a blue slag glass for the lake and a purple slag glass for the sky. There is 1 piece of slag glass missing in the shade (please see picture). All of the other slag glass pieces are in Good condition with no chips or cracks. There is a little separation in one of the metal panels on the top (please see pictures). I could not find a signature in the shade. The lamp base is just beautiful. The base is in the form of an oak tree with its roots on the bottom and limbs going up the trunk. The base is signed on the bottom – Handel. The shade measures approx. 19 wide by 10 tall. The lamp base measures approx. I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving.
