Antique Victorian Glass Large 8 Panel Slag Lamp Coming into America Liberty
Experience the timeless allure of this antique Victorian slag glass lamp, featuring a captivating bronze base and a shade crafted from purple lower and cream upper slag 8 glass panels. A fine two light slag glass lamp, probably by Miller, with Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island motif with boats on shade. It tells a story of immigration and a small part of America’s history. Similar lamp in museum on Ellis Island. It is not signed by an artist. Very good condition, with minimal imperfections, paint losses, and light expected wear from 100+ year age and use. As you can see the cording is antique but the lights works beautifully. It does show a small spot of wear so you may want to rewire it eventually. Weighing approximately 21 lbs and measuring about 19.5″ in diameter corner to corner & 25″ high. This substantial piece adds both character and weight to any space. Up for your consideration is a fine antique slag glass lamp, American, c. I do not know the maker, but the lamp is well-constructed and high quality. However, the gilded spelter base shows a crack near the lightbulb, and just below. It looks like downward pressure was applied to the top of the stem, causing the now stable cracks. Unfortunately, the lamp does not stand up perfectly vertically, but it may be able to be bent back (see the last few photos). It has been professionally rewired, and works perfectly. The shade has some dirtiness to the exterior, dark pin-tip spots within the recesses of the glass, as is common. The primary color of the shade is caramel. All glass is original, and free of chips, cracks, or damage. The piece measures 26″ tall, and the shade is 20″ in diameter. Overall, it weighs just under 17 lbs, so it is quite heavy, and well made. Up for sale is a very nice Mid Century 60′s 20 Panel Ruby and Caramel Slag Glass Hanging Light Shade. Beautiful Unusual Color Combinations. The Ruby red is darker in person. One fairly stable crack at the end of one of the Ruby Panels. Should be fine for a long time. The measurements are 22″ across – 9.5″ across at the top – 11.5 high. 20 large Glass panels on Bottom.
Large 16 Panel Slag Glass Table Lamp
This slag glass panel lamp has 16 panels, caramel in the top and red in the skirt. Simple classic designs on the base and the shade. The gold polychrome finish is in great shape. The base has two pull chain sockets that work well and has been rewired with a cloth covered cord. The shade is 19 inches wide and 8 inches tall. The base is 9 inches wide and the whole lamp is 23 inches tall.
