We view lamps as more than lighting, we view them as art. As more than a way to brighten a room, a way to brighten ones day. Up for consideration is this Antique Bridge Arm Table Lamp featuring Arts and Crafts Mission Style Watermelon Colors Slag Glass Shade. The shade is old, there are bubbles in the slag glass (see photos). There is one aspect of the lamp that is not antique. The shade had no fitter, only a square entry at top. It took a while to come up with a method, applying it to bridge arm. I used a threaded socket with a threaded screw on collar fitter. It worked perfectly, holding the shade on. It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. Lamp was originally a floor lamp converted to table lamp. There are areas of patina or tarnishing of metal (see photos). It measures approximately 17 inches from shade other side of base, 9 inches square for shade, 9 inches in diameter for base and 23 inches tall. This also applies to non lower 48, USA locations. Antique Arts and Crafts Table Lamp with Slag Glass Art Deco Shade Handel B&H Era
Here is a gorgeous, masterfully crafted antique table lamp, coming from the era of Handel, Bradley & Hubbard manufactured lamps in style similar to this one. There don’t appear to be markings present on this lamp anywhere, with the underside of the base having a perforated design which looks to have remnants of green felt padding. Handel didn’t always sign his works, though without a certain confirmation we are unsure of who crafted this masterpiece. The body is made from bronze and has a design which is floral in nature. The lamp shade is made from slag glass panels with what looks to be bronze framing to hold everything in place. It has an art deco design over the slag glass, with rather fine, intricate, rather symmetrical designs. This lamp is quite the hefty piece from a sturdy bronze base, and a thick shade. The electrical has been tested on this lamp, it features a standard two prong male plug with a wheel thumb switch, as well as the pull chains for each of the two bulbs. We tested this with 120v bulbs and it worked as intended, with the switch looking to be marked for 125v, appearing to be vintage, though not antique as the electrical was likely refurbished. The shade measures roughly 17 inches in diameter, and 10 inches in depth. The body is roughly 20 inches tall, and measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. Overall, a gorgeous piece. Handel Arts Crafts Leaded Vintage Slag Glass Antique Lamp Bradley Hubbard Era. That’s huge overall savings folks. I have for sale this very nice Handel arts and crafts geometric leaded lamp. This is a very nice lamp folks so pay attention lol. This lamp is in very good overall condition. The signed bronze base in very nice original condition and presents itself very well as you can see. The three sockets in matching patina to themselves and the base itself and with matching ball pulls. There is no damage at all to report in regards to the base or shade. The base in very nice original patina throughout and recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old style plug. The shade in very nice arts and crafts geometric design with floral border in very bold red glass and in very good original condition. I see about 6 tight hairlines/age stresses which is very good for lamps with this complicated of a design and this age and are certainly to be expected. All the leading tight and right throughout and no loose glass pieces. I like how the glass transitions from green to lighter green, almost white even towards the top. Fairly common with better lamp shade makers to give the lamp more life vs just having the same coloration from top to bottom. The pictures as you see them here from three 7 watt bulbs thats it. Not 15, 25, 40′s or 60′s just 7 watt bulbs. This has been a well maintained lamp for the past 100+ years. This lamp measuring in at 23 inches tall with the shade being 16 inches wide. Please notice the shade filligree matches the design work in the base and so bad and shade have always been together. Also patina for base and shade matching nicely as well. It’s measures 23.5 inches tall, with the shade being 20 inches wide, so this is a pretty large lamp folks. This Let’s start with the shade. The glass in the shade in very nice condition with no breaks or damage of any sort and it lights up very nicely as you can see from the photos. No missing glass segments in the shade of course and no filligree losses to be found. Now onto the base. Its in fine working order and has no metalware breaks or issues. Recently rewired with period style cloth cord and old style plug. Has its original three socket cluster and with nice period Hubbell sockets as well. The lamp signed on the underneath of the base. This lamp would look particularly well sitting on a Stickley or Limbert style table due to its arts and crafts design and form. All in all a super nice arts and crafts style lamp by one of the best makers there ever was so you cant beat that. Gorgeous circa 1920s Arts & Crafts Peacock Slag Glass Table Lamp with oak-leaf base. In the style of William Morris. The shade features an ornate peacock design in metal over pale yellow slag glass panels. The base has an Art Nouveau oak-leaf-and-acorn motif. I’m not sure if the base and the shade are original to each other. Takes 2 standard bulbs. The piece has patina and wear consistent with age and use. One glass panel is a replacement. Antique Arts & Crafts 1920s Caramel Slag Bent Panel Stained Glass Miller B&H Era
Up for sale is an early 1900s Arts and Craft Tiffany style bend slag glass panels lamp. It has a matching shade and base as you can tell from the flowers on each. The shade retains about 1/2 the original finish the lamp base closer to 90% of the original finish. As you can see the panels are all original and matching and the retaining tabs are not missing and have not been changed out. I did rewire this lamp with period correct cloth cord, and it goes all the way to the sockets, it was not hacked in like you see so often by sellers that do not know how to run the cord. The shade holder does move a little bit, it is not broken it just isn’t completely tight, it does not bother anything when the shade is on it. Lots of lamps from this ESTATE! Exquisite lamp beauty antique Vtg!! It’s a crazy nice piece!!! Look at the colors!!!! I took a video watch!! Any many pics with different lighting / flash / no flash etc – please look! Always expect some wear with old items like this!! I believe it’s a miller arts craft! The plug may be rewired! Might be repainted in the past. I’m showing it how I received it at the estate. The video shows ya on one bulb attachment loose – needs to be secured a little better! Not my thing tho. No returning over this. Please read all – I ask humbly. This appears to be in good shape – some tarnish – some itty spotting – needs maybe a cleaning- paint flake here or there. But awesome overall in my opinion. But expect some wear with this old item as expected. Nice tho – I’m being cautious! Cord may be replaced? Not an expert on that stuff.
