Size of the lamp is 23.5 ” tall by 18″ in diameter. No damage to lamp shade/ just a few heat cracks 3-4 panes/, and lamp base has a nice “frog skin” oxidation. Poul Henningsen 16 Panel Emerald Green & Butterscotch Slag Glass Lamp Marked
For your consideration is this amazing colors Poul Henningsen slag glass table lamp. DESIGNER MARKED 16 TIMES. ONE ON EACH PANEL SECTION. Poul Henningsen (9 September 1894 31 January 1967) was a Danish author, critic, architect, and designer, who was one of the leading figures of the cultural life of Denmark. Between the World Wars. In Denmark, he often is referred to, simply, as PH. His novel designs are featured in many museums. International interest in his work was revived during the 1960s. Other notable designs by him include the PH Grand Piano. Examples of which are included in several prominent twentieth-century design collections, including that of the Metropolitan Museum. In New York City. He also designed Glassalen for Tivoli Gardens. A rare estate find in this 16 panel lamp shade which is a very ornately designed bronzed metal with 8 pyramid cut panels in butterscotch and cream colors and below each of these panels is the most amazing emerald green rectangle panel. Each panel is set in a trellis patterned section which is marked P H. IT IS MARKED 16 TIMES. The glass and shade are in outstanding condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are no damages to the metal casing. The lamp is in good working condition and has a very pretty floral brown metal finish. I’m not quite sure of the flower pattern. It appears at some point the wiring may have been replaced. The lamp does work perfectly. Never saw a red and black on/ off switch before. IT DOES HAVE THE ORIGINAL MATCHING EMERALD GREEN ROUND FINIAL AND IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I replaced the lamp hasp as the original weld that secures the shade has a broken weld. I will send the original one with the lamp in case you want it. The lamp is not marked that is visible but I have not removed the protective plate on the bottom. Measurement are as follows ” TOTAL LAMP HEIGHT WITH SHADE- 25″ LAMP HEIGHT WITHOUT SHADE OR ELECTRIC PARTS – 14 1/2″ H X 9″ AT BASE. SHADE MEASURES: 17 1/2″ W X 8 1/4″ H. It measures 16″ at widest point and is 22″ in height. The base is 9″ in diameter and the reeded shaft is 1 1/4″ in diameter. It has been very recently re-wired with fabric covered lamp cord and has 3 new socket inserts. The shade is in in beautiful condition. No issues with shade, solid or tight, no missing or broken filigree. The base has some discoloration or mottling and some wear or plating loss.
