Poul Henningsen 16 Panel Emerald Green & Butterscotch Slag Glass Lamp Marked
For your consideration is this amazing colors Poul Henningsen slag glass table lamp. DESIGNER MARKED 16 TIMES. ONE ON EACH PANEL SECTION. Poul Henningsen (9 September 1894 31 January 1967) was a Danish author, critic, architect, and designer, who was one of the leading figures of the cultural life of Denmark. Between the World Wars. In Denmark, he often is referred to, simply, as PH. His novel designs are featured in many museums. International interest in his work was revived during the 1960s. Other notable designs by him include the PH Grand Piano. Examples of which are included in several prominent twentieth-century design collections, including that of the Metropolitan Museum. In New York City. He also designed Glassalen for Tivoli Gardens. A rare estate find in this 16 panel lamp shade which is a very ornately designed bronzed metal with 8 pyramid cut panels in butterscotch and cream colors and below each of these panels is the most amazing emerald green rectangle panel. Each panel is set in a trellis patterned section which is marked P H. IT IS MARKED 16 TIMES. The glass and shade are in outstanding condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are no damages to the metal casing. The lamp is in good working condition and has a very pretty floral brown metal finish. I’m not quite sure of the flower pattern. It appears at some point the wiring may have been replaced. The lamp does work perfectly. Never saw a red and black on/ off switch before. IT DOES HAVE THE ORIGINAL MATCHING EMERALD GREEN ROUND FINIAL AND IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I replaced the lamp hasp as the original weld that secures the shade has a broken weld. I will send the original one with the lamp in case you want it. The lamp is not marked that is visible but I have not removed the protective plate on the bottom. Measurement are as follows ” TOTAL LAMP HEIGHT WITH SHADE- 25″ LAMP HEIGHT WITHOUT SHADE OR ELECTRIC PARTS – 14 1/2″ H X 9″ AT BASE. SHADE MEASURES: 17 1/2″ W X 8 1/4″ H. GLASS PANELS BUTTERSCOTCH- 8″ L X 6 1/2″ W AT BOTTOM SECTION OF PANEL. EMERALD GREEN GLASS PANELS MEASURE 6 3/4″ W X 2 3/4″ H. EMERALD GREEN FINIAL IS ROUGHLY 1 BALL. Antique – Emerald Green – Slag Glass Lamp with Slag Glass Base. Ornate detail in the metalwork, shaped as winged gryphons and floral patterns down and around the base. Still has it’s original, working wiring with both sockets working using a pull string. There is no broken glass on it. The Lamp Shade is in need of some tightening up, or repair, as can be seen; but, it sits on it’s own as is, as can be seen. The full lamp is 23 inches tall.
