Antique Slag Glass Pendant Copper And Brass Six Sided
This six-paneled slag glass pendant will class up any home inside or out. The frame and original canopy are copper, while the finials and tassel are brass. The bent slag glass is caramel and isn’t cracked. Each panel is about 10 inches high and about 4.5 inches wide at its widest. We don’t know the date of this light; best estimate is 1940s. The home it was removed from was built in the 1920, but we we don’t know if the light was original to the home. The light has some paint specks that could probably be wiped off. We left this light as we found it to retain its authentic appearance. The finish is a pleasing patina, the type only time can produce. The pendant is missing one of the six top finials, otherwise the light is 100% intact. The top panel is hinged and held by a spring tab; the lower portion swings away to access the bulb. This light has been rewired, but as always you should have a professional electrician inspect and install antique lighting and any lighting for that matter. The slag glass pendant is about 19 inches high. The chain adds 14 inches and the canopy adds 6 inches. Total height is 39 inches but you could shorten this by 12 inches by shortening the chain. The slag glass light weighs 4 pounds 3 ounces. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Lamps, Lighting\Lamps”. The seller is “dural33″ and is located in this country: US. 6 Sided Mission Green & Gold Slag Glass Lamp Shade Arts & Crafts Hexagon Fitter
Total Mission /Arts & Crafts style iron lattice, green slag glass, 6 sided hexagon Lamp Shade. To be honest, I’m disappointed I’m being made to sell this. I’m told that I keep to much, especially the “good stuff”. Mission style with an industrial feel. I think I like this so much because theres this high brow looking glass, just like Moss agate with lots of green & brown with gold sparkles, then it has this industrial cage like a 19c. With antique bronze copper finish that has an overall “rusty” look, without being rust! If it’s not the original finish it was done by a clever artist or someone that got very lucky. Theres Two alternating patterns (spirals and squiggles) that have been scratched into the wet paint to show the green under color. The kicker might be the hex fitter. Measurement for the fitter run smaller because the glass holders are below the ruler in the picture. Some of the glass holders have been re-solderd… No other repairs, or cracks, chips, or damage I see. Its a little over 5 1/2 tall. It looks taller because of how wide it is, 14 1/2. I wish I could find a hexagon shade top to keep that great look, but a 4 1/2 round one will probably have to do until the right one shows up. Still A brilliant shade I’ve started thinking it may have been an oil lamp shade, but I can’t see where a chimney bracket was every attached anywhere?
