FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: VERY ATTRACTIVE, TALL, NEWEL POST, ORIGINAL GAS LAMP FROM 1880′s WITH LATER CONVERSION TO ELECTRICITY. THE LAMP HAS IT’S ORIGINAL SLAG GLASS SHADE THAT IS IN A VERY GOOD CONDITION (NO CHIPS CRACKS OR REPAIRS). ALL ORIGINAL SURFACE PAINT WITH LATER MINUTE TOUCH-UPS AND MINUTE WEAR CONSISTENT WITH AGE. THE BASE IS SIGNED WITH AN UNKNOWN, FACTORY PRODUCED SIGNATURE OF AN ARTIST SCULPTOR – AUTHOR OF THE COMPOSITION (SEE LAST PICTURE). THE LAMP IS IN A VERY GOOD WORKING ORDER WITH PROFESSIONALLY ADDED SOLID CLOTH CORD AND AN OLD PLUG, ALL READY FOR USE. It is in very good to excellent antique estate condition. We are not for certain if all the shade slag glass is original (see photos). All of the decorative metal is in tact. It features a round reverse image shade rest for shade fitter (see photos). There are areas of corrosion, patina or tarnish and scratches on the metal (see photos).
