Mission arts craft stained slag glass roycroft stickley dirk van urp copper lamp
A large incredible antique all original very very rare mission arts & crafts signed G. Trautmann Raven Wood Chicago hammered copper and leaded slag glass table lamp in excellent condition. This is one of the most beautiful lamps on e-bay and certainly one of the rarest that’s ever been on e-bay for that matter. I have never seen any other lamp anything like this one. I believe this lamp is a one of a kind. I don’t believe he ever mass produced lamps. I can only find very little about him but have found other examples of his work and have had a few of his lamp bases over the years that weren’t signed. Another lamp I did find of his that was signed had a date of 1909 with the signature. If anyone one knows any thing about him please contact me with the information. This lamp is truly a very finely hand crafted work of art from a master craftsman. He even made his own chain pulls for the socket switches. You rarely see this amount of detail in any lamp that I know of. The original patina is in very good untouched condition with some minor loses as shown. This lamp is extremely dirty being in a storage unit for more than thirty years and could use a very good cleaning that would only enhance the beauty of the original incredible slag glass in this shade and the patina on the copper. I have left it as found for the new owner to determine how and what to clean there is 100 years of dust and dirt on it. There are no cracks in any of the slag glass panels. I did have to make some very minor repairs to some of the leading by re-soldering it together where it had separated over time and now its good for another 110 years. There are some minor small dents in the shade that will be shadowed by the sheer beauty of this lamp as shown. I have listed this lamp twice so I could post more photos of it. Antique Slag Glass Copper Overlay Landscape Arts Crafts Art Deco Nouveau Lamp
It has elements of Arts and Crafts, Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements. Thereby placing it approximately in the 1910′s. The top portion of the shade is green slag that ranges from dark kelly green to light mint. The bottom portion is shades of turquoise and sky blue. The over lay appears to be copper (non magnetic) The rest of the metal is painted a coppery shade. It does work but I would recommend rewiring it. Overall it is in very good condition. There is a hairline in one panel of the green glass but is it stable. One tree top is missing on one overlay. Typical wear on the metal. Please ask any questions you may have. ANTIQUE PAIR BRADLEY & HUBBARD COPPER AND SLAG GLASS SCONCES. The original turn key on one says PERKINS, the other just has a new socket. The metal is copper and they have a few dings consistent with age. The slag glass in both is perfect, no cracks. One holder screw is modern. Both sconces, not shades, have makers marks. This lamp was hanging in my childhood home, and in storage. For the last 50 years. Beautiful metal fretwork in very good condition. Curved slag glass and straight pieces of slag glass. Framed in copper on the inside. FYI: Photographed with a flashlight inside the lamp to show the beautiful color. Three of the straight pieces of glass have cracks/breaks. They have been clear glued. They can be removed and replaced easily. It does not mar the use of the light fixture. I have photographed them. One of the curved pieces of slag is cracked. The lamp should be rewired professionally. Lamp is about 20 1/2″ wide by about 9″ deep. Gorgeous ANTIQUE AMERICAN ART NOUVEAU Copper Overlay Slag Glass Lamp c. Gorgeous ANTIQUE AMERICAN ART NOUVEAU Copper Overlay Slag Glass Lamp , circa 1915. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a gorgeous Art Nouveau slag glass lamp, with meticulously cut metal overlay, dichroic slag glass, and a beautiful copper overlay base. I do not know the maker of this very rare lamp. It was made c. 1915, and retains all its original parts, glass, and sockets. The glass color is a translucent opal with a few light brown swirls. When a colored light bulb is used, the shade turns to that color, and the color is even throughout. The dichroic slag glass gives an opal-like effect, and was often used in Tiffany shades. It was difficult to produce, and the first example I have seen in a slag glass lamp. Similarly, this is the only example of this type of overlay that I have seen, Riviere Studios (pine needle) and Handel also used overlay. The lamp stands 23″ tall, and the shade is 18″ in diameter. The lamp is in excellent condition. The glass is free of chips, cracks, or damage, and is completely original. The filigree is complete, and free of loss or repair. The metal lamp base weighs about 10 lbs. And features metal overlay also. It is in excellent condition, complete, and has been professionally rewired. One of the pull chains is locked into the “on” position, and the filigree on the shade and base have even surface scratching throughout from prior dusting/cleaning over the years. This is a very beautiful antique Slag Glass Table Lamp. Antique double-socket with an intricately detailed design of Camels & Palm Trees. The Lamp must be rewired for use. It was illuminated only for the purpose of showing the lamps beauty. The Lamp is 23″ high X 17 3/4″ wide X 16 deep. The shade is 17 3/4″ wide x 16″ deep 7 1/4 high. The base is 9″ x 10″. Arts & Crafts Era Copper & Green Slag Glass Hanging Light. Material: Copper Frame & Green Slag Glass. Ca 1900 – 1930. Measurements: approximately 8″ height to top, base measures approximately 12″ square. Condition: good, and works fine….. This lamp was rewired. Notice in the photographs that there are scratches on the copper frame, including a 1.25 scratch (which has a sticky residue) on the upper copper frame. These scratches may not show when the lamp is hung from the ceiling, it just depends on how far the lamp descends from the ceiling. This ceiling light is a nice arts & crafts era fixture and gives a nice color when lit. It could hang above the table, or above your desk, or above the game or pool table… You know where your house needs light.
