Rare Antique Art Nouveau Piano Lamp with Green Slag Glass
We view lamps as more than lighting, we view them as art. As more than a way to brighten a room, a way to brighten ones day. Up for consideration is this Rare Antique Art Nouveau Piano Lamp with Green Slag Glass Shade. It has a socket based on/off switch. It is in very good to excellent antique condition. The lamp originally had reverse painted slag glass but the paint was faded and chipping. One side is slightly taller/higher than the other (see photos). There are areas of age related chipping and fading of the paint (see photos). There are areas of patina or tarnishing of the metal (see photos). There are no broken or cracked slag glass. It measures approximately 9 inches by 5.75 for shade, 10.25 wide at ball fasteners, 6 inches in diameter for base and 13 inches tall. This also applies to non lower 48, USA locations. Rare Beautiful Antique Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp & Lighted Base
This rare beautiful antique slag stained glass table lamp also has glass in the base and lights up as well. The metal has designs with coloring and it stands about 24 tall overall. There are no cracks to the glass anywhere nor any broken spots on the metal frame of both the shade and base. Someone has done modern rewiring of the lamp with both sockets on the top working as well as the one in the base. Typically the wiring has deteriorated on these lamps so for safety purposes this is better. One pull chain is a little stubborn and the base switch to turn that socket off doesn’t seem to be working. RARE Antique APOLLO STUDIOS Tree Trunk Copper Lamp Base SLAG GLASS Arts & Crafts
ARTS & CRAFTS MOVEMENT ERA. SLAG GLASS & COPPER SHADE. This is a very RARE and BEAUTIFUL antique lamp. This lamp is from my personal collection. I have downsized and do not have a place for this lamp. Therefore, it needs to find a new home. It is in overall, great condition. It has been rewired. The lamp does work as it should including the pull chains. The pull chains have the original acorns on the ends. The copper has a great patina of age. The slag glass is original. One of the thin pieces of glass around the perime. Ter of the shade has a crack (please refer to the photo for details). I always had that panel facing the wall so no one ever noticed. Otherwise, NO cracks or breaks to the rest of the glass. The shade leans just very slightly. The lamp is an overall 18 tall. The base of the lamp is 8 in diameter. The shade is 17.5″ in diameter from point to point and 14.5″ in diameter from straight panel to straight panel. In my 35 years of collecting, I’ve never seen another Apollo Studios lamp with a tree trunk base! Please take a look at the photos for details and consider them part of the description. RARE Handel Leaded Slag Stained Glass Griffin FLOOR Lamp Base
This is an RARE, 100% original and authentic, Handel griffin floor lamp base. I have seen this design in table bases, but not on floor lamps before. This one has a rather thin stem, so I expect it was made for a mica or cloth type shade. It is large and impressive, standing at 67 1/2″ tall with a bottom that is about 12″ in diameter. The base has its original finish, cluster, cap and unusual multi-faceted glass finial. Sockets are marked ARROW and have their original porcelain interiors and tassel ends (which is also why I expect this was for a cloth or mica shade since other Handel items typically come with Hubbells and acorn pulls). It does not appeared to be signed anywhere that I can see, but is 100% authentic period Handel (and not a copy or reproduction). Rare MacDonald Leaded Shade, Bigelow Kennard, Leaded, Slag Shade, Handel Lamp Era
He was a teacher of stained glass to Louis Comfort Tiffany. If you search MacDonald theres a Wikipedia article. Also on Leaded Lamps Dot Com theres some pictures of this shade on a Grueby Lamp base. This shade was a mystery on who made the shade since its only signed MacDonald. I herd it could of been his Son or Daughter. That cleared the confusion on who made the shade. Donald Newton MacDonald was the son that ended up being the head of the Stained glass lamp department of Bigelow & Kennard lamp co. So now I believe that these signed MacDonald Leaded shades are Prototypes to show Bigelow & Kennard his work and was hired and the same shades where then signed Bigelow & Kennard as we see today. This shade is very nice. The shade is 20 in Diameter with a 3 1/2 aperture top opening. The condition is mint. I hate to say that but I cant find a crack maybe a very small one up by the top in the green glass. The glass has a hammered type green top glass and a beautiful White Clam Broth bottom glass. The shade is signed MacDonald. I do have the Grueby lamp base I would also sell if there is interest? This shade is very hard and rare to find. If you have a nice Bigelow Kennard base there you go. RARE Handel Leaded Slag Stained Glass Bronze Water Lily Lamp Base
This is hard to find Handel lamp base. I have only come across a few over the years. It is a water lily themed one, done in solid bronze. Great look, nice finish, and complete with Hubbell sockets (with porcelain interiors), acorn pulls, cap and finial. It is even wired up with period style brown cloth cord. I see no dents, dings or major scratches and medium brown finish looks great. 21 1/2″ tall, 8″ diameter at the widest point of the bottom. Prominently signed HANDEL as shown. RARE John Morgan Leaded Slag Glass Fruit Lamp Shade Chandelier Handel Tiffany
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is about as rare as it gets in a leaded glass chandelier. Made by John Morgan & Sons this wonderful painted fruit hanger is the best of the best. Anything made by this company is rare, and while I have owned many of their grape shades, I have never seen this particular chandelier before. It is just stunning. It has a combination of their famous chunk glass for the grapes and their painted pieces for the pears and apples. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here but will note that the shade is in excellent overall condition with no repairs or missing pieces. I see a couple of small cracks in the green boarder pieces (none in the big top ones) and one of the pears has a tight s-shaped hairline which sort of blends in with the shape of the pear anyway. This is a very large shade that measures 25″ in diameter but then curls under to 21″ to make the very unusual shape you see here. It is 18 deep. What’s really great about this chandelier is the hammered petal top piece and spiral grape vine wires that illustrate another aspect of John Morgan’s design work. The shade has its original 6-socket Weber turn key cluster and has hanging hardware that measures about 18″ long (so in total this chandelier would hang about 36″ from your ceiling). It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to hang in your home. This is an incredibly RARE hanger in wonderful original condition that lights up amazingly. It would make a statement in any room. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine.
