Art Nouveau Bradley & Hubbard MILLER Slag Glass Lamp With Lighted Base C. 1915
This is a fine antique. Or miller slag glass lamp, with a lighted base. The shade features 16 panels in what is called a caramel swirl. The base has six matching caramel. All glass panels on the lamp are complete, unbroken, original and are all in excellent condition. The lamp stands 25″ Tall and the shade is large measuring 20″in diameter. Over all the lamp is in excellent condition. The exception are the Following. The shade has a loss of a small piece of filigree seen on the first picture and picture number 8. Also there is a minor separation of the metal shade frame, that does not effect its stability or looks. This lamp was rewired in 1995. A false cloth cover was put on the new cord but has frayed near the plug. The cloth cover is decorative and posses no electrical danger. See picture number 12. The lamp is ready for use. This is an OUTSTANDING early 1900′s hanging dome lamp shade. The shade is in fabulous condition! There are NO missing broken or replaced glass panels! The metal framework is also in supurb condition. This shade is 21 3/4 diameter and weighs about 30 pounds. I will include the 3 socket light fixture I bought for the shade as I was going to hang this in my house. The description link will give you complete details. ART NOUVEAU Antique Slag GLASS LAMP Unusual Blue Green 8 Panels ARTS & CRAFTS. Beautiful antique slag glass 8 panel lamp with a lovely art nouveau shade done in blue glass with green accents. Gorgeous when lit and will enhance any decor. Measures 23 in height with the matching finial. Shade is 19 across measured at the bottom edge. Base is a sturdy matching 9. Single bulb with a classic push button switch. We believe this lamp has been rewired at one time but you may want to do it again with a more modern plug. Both the lamp and the base and the finial were painted a deep bronze color when manufactured. I think the base was repainted at one time as it is slightly more shiny that the metal on the shade. There are paint chips throughout and the most significant are pictured. Many are on the top near the finial where one would expect the most wear. If you’re considering this lamp, it is most likely due to the gorgeous rare color. You could, of course, repaint the metal parts or have a professional do it. I have owned this lamp for several years and never noticed them until I began to inspect it throughly for listing. I found the paint issues no detraction especially when the lamp is lit. It does show its age, as many of us do. It can, however, still light up a room beautifully, as many of us can’t. Please contact me immediately if you cannot meet this requirement. All tablecloths are freshly laundered and painfully ironed for your immediate enjoyment unless’as found condition’ is mentioned! All scarves are in as found condition and dry cleaning is highly recommended prior to wear. I try to describe each item perfectly, but there is always the chance that I have missed something. Art Nouveau 4 Panel Slag Glass Lamp Boudoir Dresser Leaded Cast Iron Vtg Antique
Other than one small lead separation on it’s shade, this lamp is in very good fully functional condition as shown. The slag glass panels are in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks. The base is made of cast iron, the metal portion of shade and the stem are nonmagnetic and I believe made of lead. Measurements are approximately 17″ tall with a 7″ diameter shade. Beautiful Art Nouveau period sliding book-ends. (or book rack) The glass panels on this example is among the best I’ve seen. From research, APOLLO (est 1874) didn’t mark goods “Apollo” until 1909, dating these to pre 1909. (A direct competitor of Tiffany’s). Unless the makers mark is under the enclosed glass panels.
