Antique Bent Slag Caramel Stained Glass Panel Overlay Table Lamp Miller B&H or
Heres a Very Nice Antique Caramel Slag Glass Bent Panel Table Lamp. The lamp appears to retain 95% + of the original gold paint which has light green embellishments. Note the lady heads in profile that decorate the lower edge of the shade. I believe all the glass is original – there is a wide variation in the swirls and color tones and such from panel to panel as is normal. There are several scratches to the base mostly, and areas of small loss to the paint here and there – there may be touch ups to the paint as well. Also note some white paint to one area of the shade in picture 9. The only damage that I see thats really notable is a stress crack to the base (picture 11). The lamp has been re-wired and works fine. It stands approximately 22 and 1/2 tall to the top of the finial, and the diameter of the shade is just a bit under 18. I dont see any makers name but it must be one of the better companies. Antique Whaley Leaded Slag Stained Glass Priarie Table Lamp Handel Duffner Era
I have had a few inquiries since I ended these last week, so here you go. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. While I hesitate to assign a maker there, I do believe this to be a J A Whaley prairie style leaded glass table lamp. It is a very cool and very well made lamp with a very nice geometric design in a flat prairie style or pagoda looking form. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any setting. The shade is composed of deep caramel white pieces mixed with dark green ones to give off just the right amount of contrast. The glass is just beautiful and the design is totally arts & crafts. In terms of size, this is a standard sized table lamp with a 16 1/2″ diameter shade that stands 20 1/2″ tall. In terms of condition, I see one or two small cracks, but nothing serious and no replaced pieces. The lobed form base is why I believe this to be a Whaley lamp, but neither it nor the shade is signed so the true maker may never be known. What it is is a 100% old and authentic lamp, from the early 1900′s, in fine original condition. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. J A Whaley is not as well known as Duffner or Handel, but they made some awesome lamps and this is one of them! These things need to be double boxed and packed really well. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. Miller Lamp Co. Slag Glass Base, Heavy BRONZE(rare) BEAUTIFUL PATINA
This is one beautiful and heavy lamp. It stands about 24 inches tall and weighs almost 11 pounds. I believe it to be a Miller, but I did not remove the green felt and search for markings. It could also be a Whaley or Wilkinson, as it is so well made. The design is unique with floral lower and spiraling leaves/stems which course upward. The color is a bronze/green. There is one small dent which can be seen on the last picture on the edge of the base. The socket shells were changed at some time.
