American 1st quarter of the 20th century blue slag glass table lamp. The blue slag glass has some light purple colors running through it. Filigree frame work with basket and flower design. Blue slag glass color when lamp is turned off and glass looks more carmel color when lamp is turned on. Iron base and white metal column and shade. Patinated finish in a very dark green color. The photos make it look almost black but it’s not. Double socket with pull chains. Makers mark on bottom of base appears to be a Y over two R’s encircled and a #1712. Hand cut, rough cut edges to glass panels. Wiring has been updated and replaced at sometime. In very good used antique working condition. There are no breaks or cracks to the glass panels. There is a dent on the column post of base. There is some age appropriate wear to the finish of the base. See last two photos of this. Please see all photos as they are part of the description also. This is a beautiful antique slag glass lamp. Caramel “puffy” glass on the shade as well as on the base. The lamp measures 21 1/2″ tall x 18″ wide. Shade has Art Nouveau floral swags and cartouches. The base has two handles and a metal design over the slag glass top and bottom on both sides of the lamp. Two original sockets with pull chains. Lights top, bottom, and top with bottom. Glass is all original. Not signed, so I don’t know who the maker was. Stunning large slag glass lamp. Condition: The lamp appears to be all original except for the wiring and the on/off switch on one side of the base. The cap at the top has a thin chip off the edge, which you can see in the photo taken of the top of the lamp. This is obviously not very noticeable because it’s on the very top of the lamp, but the shade may appear to be just very slightly higher on one side than the other. The base has some loss to the metal design, situated over the glass, at the top, where it appears some of it was cut off, although it looks the same on both sides. This is not something you notice unless you examine the lamp very closely. And there is some loss to the metal design over the glass, on one side, on the bottom of the base (shown). If you were to turn that side of the lamp to the wall, you wouldn’t know there was any loss…. Well, except for the fact that I just told you. The shade appears to be in very good condition. I don’t see any loss and the glass is all intact with no cracks. Thanks for stopping by. I have for sale this super bradley and hubbard overlay lamp. This is a great user friendly size and very well made. This lamp measures 18.5 inches tall with the shade being 13.5 inches wide. The base in fine working order and recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord. No damage at all to the base as far as the metalware and no dents or dings to be seen. The patina excellent throughout including the perfect matching and original hubbell sockets with their acorn pulls. The shade also in equally nice condition with very solid and thick overlay throughout in a great arts and crafts style pattern. I see no losses to any filligree whatsoever. The glass in excellent condition throughout and having no breaks or chips or losses. Im sure this is the original murano glass as well as its such high quality and great coloration. I see no signs of repair anywhere on the base or shade. Simply an excellent example of a 100% right as rain period bradley and hubbard lamp and in excellent overall condition. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well. Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and no reserves. Please Check out my other items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. To all potential buyers. Please feel free to. Chances are if there aren’t any, it’s a newer item and you shouldn’t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. Thanks for your understanding. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. The base properly signed with the b and h logo on the bottom of the base. The base in original patina which obviously matched the patina on the shade. Its been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and is in fine working order. The base without any damage whatsoever and if one, two, three, sockets werent enough, bradley and hubbard put four hubbells on this base, that all work fine and have their original acorn pulls as well. The base measures 22 inches tall and the shade measures 20 inches wide. Also in regards to the shade, all the glass without cracks and in great color and the metalware filligree of the shade also without any breaks or damage and the filligree all present and accounted for. This lamp was filthy when i got it, just filthy. I dont normally like to clean nice old dirty lamps but in this case i did, it was that dirty. So again, just simply a large and unique bradley and hubbard super well made lamp, very much unlike any other makers, and in very good overall condition. Thanks for looking and please check out my other lighting auctions as well. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Please read the condition report on this lamp thoroughly as there are condition issues. This is an amazing lamp by the Unique Art Glass and Metal Co. It is enormous measuring 21” across the dome and 31” high without the cap. It is undoubtedly By the Unique lamp Co. And the tag ring is still attached inside on the shade. The glass is just gorgeous when lit with a wonderful smoky opalescence that makes the bottom band glow and it is stunning when lit at night. I have looked through my books and cannot find this particular pattern so it may be a rare one. Colors are amazing and the lamp is as beautiful lit as it is unlit. Leaded lamps out of NYC are getting very rare and hard to find especially this size. I believe this was the largest size they made in a table lamp. If you collect leaded lighting this one is a must have do not let it get away. This item ships by fed ex for 100.00 in the lower 48 states. The item “RARE ANTIQUE 21 X 31 TALL UNIQUE LAMP CO. BEAUTIFUL RARE BRONZE FIGURAL SLAG LAMP. Absolutely stunning and very special, rare bronze metal figural slag lamp. Age unknown, but most probably from the 1920s, if not earlier. I havent seen one like this before. There are three maiden faces on the lamp itself. There are more maiden images encircling the shade along with faces that appear to be perhaps Medusa or some royal figure. The lamp is very intricate and beautifully detailed with images of griffins, floral vases, grapes, and lattice work. This magnificent lamp measures about 26 1/2 tall including the finial. The shade measures approximately 19 in diameter. The lamp is very heavy and substantial. The glass panels are done in a very tasteful trio of colors including vanilla, caramel, and chocolate and look to be in superb condition with no cracking. The lamp is in astonishingly good condition, especially for its antiquity, with normal patina and finish wear (see photos) commensurate with age. Its only temporary flaw is that one of the sockets is not currently working (although this should be a quick and inexpensive fix at a lamp repair shop). The shade and lamp appear to be a match, but I could not find a makers mark on the shade itself to confirm this.
