THIS IS AN EXQUSITE, HIGHLY ORNATE ANTIQUE (ART NOUVEAU PERIOD) VERY LARGE TABLE LAMP. THE LAMP IS ANTIQUE BENT SLAG GLASS WITH AN EMBOSSED BASE. THIS LAMP IS IN WONDERFUL WORKING CONDITION. IT WAS MADE BY ROYAL ART GLASS CO. THEY WERE OUT OF NEW YORK, AND WERE COMPETING WITH TIFFANY & CO. UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE ONLY IN BUSINESS A SHORT TIME, MAKING THEIR LAMPS RATHER RARE. THIS ONE IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION. IT FEATURES 8 BENT SLAG PANELS WITH AMAZING SWIRLS OF COLOR IN THE GLASS. THE SHADE HAS EMBOSSED METAL THAT IS ALL THE ORIGINAL HAND PAINTING. THE SHADE IS ORIGINAL TO THE BASE. THE BASE IS IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE OF THE TIME, AND IS ALSO EMBOSSED WITH THE ORIGINAL PAINT. THE BASE HAS A LITTLE WEAR TO THE PAINT AROUND THE BOTTOM RIM. IT IS A LITTLE HARD TO SEE, BUT DEFINATELY THERE. THE WIRING & PLUG ARE IN TERRIFIC CONDITION AS WELL. THE SOCKET HAS A CHAIN PULL AND IN THE PHOTOS WE HAD A 40 WATT BULB IN IT. THE ANTIQUE LAMP MEASURES 22 1/4 TALL!!! AND THE SHADE IS ABOUT 18 7/8 WIDE!!! WE MAKE SURE THAT WE MEASURE TWICE AND DO OUR BEST TO DESCRIBE EACH ITEM. THIS IS AN EXQUSITE, HIGHLY ORNATE ANTIQUE (ART NOUVEAU PERIOD) VERY LARGE SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP, SIGNED BY “MILLER”. THE LAMP IS ANTIQUE BENT SLAG GLASS WITH AN EMBOSSED BASE. THIS LAMP IS IN WONDERFUL WORKING CONDITION! THE LAMP IS SIGNED ON THE BASE AND HAS PATENT INFO. THE LAMP IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION. IT FEATURES 6 BENT SLAG PANELS WITH AMAZING SWIRLS OF CARAMEL COLOR IN THE GLASS. MILLER FOUND THAT THE SOFT CARAMEL COLOR TESTED BEST FOR READING AND ACTUALLY TRIED TO PATENT THAT COLOR. HE LOST THE PATENT, SINCE A COLOR CAN NOT BE PATENTED. THE SHADE HAS FANTASTIC METAL OVERLAY WITH THE ORIGINAL BRONZE COLORED PAINT. THE SHADE IS ORIGINAL TO THE BASE AND EVEN THE FINIAL IS ORIGINAL! THE BASE IS IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE OF THE TIME, AND IS ALSO EMBOSSED WITH THE ORIGINAL PAINT. THE BASE HAS A VICTORIAN “LEAFY” DESIGN WITH LIGHT WEAR TO THE PAINT. THE WIRING & PLUG ARE IN TERRIFIC CONDITION AS WELL. THE SOCKETS HAVE DOUBLE CHAIN PULLS AND IN THE PHOTOS WE HAD A 40 WATT BULB IN THEM. THE LAMP MIGHT HAVE BEEN REWIRED IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, BUT WE ARE NOT SURE. THE ONLY WEAR TO THE LAMP IS LIGHT FLAKING TO THE PAINTED METAL AND ONE SEAM IN THE METAL ON THE SHADE. (11TH PHOTO) THAT SEAM DOES NOT AFFECT THE STABILITY OF THE SHADE, AND ALL OF THE SLAG PIECE SIT SECURLY. (WE DID NOT EVEN KNOW THE SEAM WAS THERE UNTIL WE STARTED TO TAKE PHOTOS). THE ANTIQUE LAMP MEASURES 22″ TALL TO THE LEAFY FINIAL, AND THE SHADE IS ABOUT 16″ WIDE. WE MAKE SURE THAT WE MEASURE TWICE AND DO OUR BEST TO DESCRIBE EACH ITEM. Arts&crafts ML Co. 233 Miller Slag Glass Lamp, Sky House Tree Scene, Polychromed
PLENTY OF PHOTOS, Offering this beautiful Miller lamp with NO RESERVE. On the bottom of base is foundry embossed ML CO. All of this lamp is in original obtained condition from an estate sale of Florida retiree. Both lights and pull chains work. It stands about 22tall. The shade is 16″across the bottom and approx 9″tall.. None of the beautiful varigated slag glass panels are cracked. On the center of the very top of the shade, around the hole, you can see where about half of the circle has a fine stress crack hate to say that for it sounds too severe for it is still secure for use As Is. If you look close, perhaps that very center top of shade had been pushed in ever so little for it to do that. All the photos are true to this lamp. The white finish has remained very good. I do not know what, if any, restoration has been done to this. Perhaps new wiring or cord etc, but unknown to that.. I will let the photos be the best part of description, so please view all.
