Description: Up for sale is this very clean circa 1920 slag glass table lamp. Original green slag glass predominately green but with veins of cream and brown. Glass is textured and has a great look in low light settings. Single bulb with “fat boy” socket with large paddle turn switch. Wiring is new and in good condition making lamp ready for service. But as with all electrical devices please examine carefully before using. All panels of glass are clear and without chips or cracks. All filigree is present as is glass pins. Original finish to base. Antique Art Nouveau Blue 8 Panel Slag Glass Verdigris Table Lamp Signed
American 1st quarter of the 20th century blue slag glass table lamp. The blue slag glass has some light purple colors running through it. Filigree frame work with basket and flower design. Blue slag glass color when lamp is turned off and glass looks more carmel color when lamp is turned on. Iron base and white metal column and shade. Patinated finish in a very dark green verdigris color. The photos make it look almost black but it’s not. Double socket with pull chains. Makers mark on bottom of base appears to be a Y over two R’s encircled and a #1712. Hand cut, rough cut edges to glass panels. Wiring has been updated and replaced at sometime. Dimensions are 25″ tall overall to top of finial, 8″ base and the shade is 16 1/2 across the widest bottom angle. In very good used antique working condition. There are no breaks or cracks to the glass panels. There is a dent on the column post of base. There is some age appropriate wear to the finish of the base. See last two photos of this. Antique Art Nouveau Signed Curved Slag Glass 6 Panel Shade and Lamp
Antique 6 Panel Curved Slag Glass Art Nouveau Lamp. Signed on the bottom S. Inside a diamond with the number 12. I’m not sure of the maker. There are 6 beautiful carmel colored (white with yellow) curved slag glass panels. Stunning gold colored art nouveau design continues all the way around the shade and the cast metal screw on finial has the same floral pattern. There are 3 tigers that go around the upper portion of the lamp body. The base of the lamp is heavy and probably cast metal or cast iron. There are 2 pull chains for each of the 2 sockets (these appear to be original). The cord does not have any frays or tears (cord appears to be original). The outlet plug is missing a portion where it is broken off and will need to be replaced (see photo #6 for a close up). I had the shade repaired at the top by a local stain glass specialty shop and you can see where it was repaired (see photo #10 for a close up). The finish is wearing away from the metal in places on both the lamp and the shade. The shade measures approximately 16″ across / diameter x 7 3/4″ tall. The lamp measures approximately 22 3/4″ tall with the shade and finial x 8″ diameter base x 20 1/2 tall. Gorgeous Edward Miller (Meriden Connecticut) Slag Glass Lamp Signed Dated c. Six curved caramel slag glass panels secured in a floral metal frame. The frame, column, base and fixtures have traditional. Applied’old gold’ finish and detailed metal over colored glass. No cracks or damage to any of the 6 large original slag glass panels. They are hand made and cut with no 2 being exactly the same. 21″ tall (Base 8″ wide). Shade 16″ wide x 8″. This heavy shade simply rests on top of the lamp. How it was made and is by design. One of the pull-chain switch sockets was not functioning; stuck and. We did have to remove and examine; the internal. Ratcheting switch device was broken. A modern pull-chain switch. Socket was installed; the bright chain was shortened and the original. Dark chain was installed. As these lamps are just now turning 100. Years, their value will only go up and original parts will become scarce. We will included the original damaged ceramic-based pull chain. Socket so that it will always be complete with the lamp and could. No top finial; center of shade is open and sits on a ring attached to. 3 arms above the main lamp column body.
