Antique Bradley & Hubbard Arts & Crafts Slag Glass Table Lamp with Metal Overlay
Art Deco B&H Stained Glass Table Lamp.. Please be sure to check over the photos carefully as they are an important part of this description. GLASS PANELS – Two of the 8 green slag glass panels have damage. One is repaired and displays well. The other one is missing a chip on the top angle of the panel. I found no damage to the other 6 panels. METAL OVERLAY SHADE FRAME – The frame. Is basically in good repair although due to age, there are a few areas that could be straightened if you want no imperfections. It is very old and looks fine left as is. METAL BASE – The base is in good condition but the patina shows some spotting. The four arms that hold the glass shade are sturdy and in good shape. While this lamp had been working years back, after years of storage the original cord was brittle enough that I cut the cord to insure it would be replaced for safety reasons. The socket and pull chain are still in place so it only would require rewiring with a new cord. It is very lovely when lit. MEASUREMENT: Approximately 18.5″ tall x 13.5″ shade diameter. C1910 Art Nouveau Caramel Slag Glass Shade & Metal Overlay Lamp Fluted Base. This listing is for a circa 1910 Art Nouveau handsome slag glass metal overlay table lamp. The lamp measures 21 inches or 53.3 cm high to the top of the finial and, the shade is 15 inches or 38.1 cm in diameter. The shade consists of 6 panels. Each panel consists of a caramel color glass which is slightly curved. All the glass is held in place by clips on the inside. The outside of the shade has a beautiful metal overlay. The overlay is ornate and beautiful with delicate flowers and beadwork. The standard is ribbed with low relief foliate design; it has a dark gold patina or color which is all original to the piece. The lamp has a single turn switch socket. The lamp is in very good condition. As with any antique lighting the wiring should always be checked before use. Please see the many photos for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description. A very handsome lamp. There is no reserve. THE SLAG GLASS SHADE HAS AMAZING CURVES IN THE TWO TONE GREEN SLAG WITH DRAMATIC GILDED BRASS OVERLAY. THIS SHADE DEFINES THE TERM “BENT SLAG”! WE DID NOT SEE A NAME ON THE BASE, HOWEVER IT HAS A CENTURY WORTH OF PATINA ON THE BRASS AND WE DID NOT WANT TO RUIN THE LAMP BY POLISHING IT. THE BASE HAS GREEN FELT OVER IRON. IN THE 7TH PHOTO YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE WIRE IS COMING OUT OF THE BASE. THAT IS WHERE THE “GAS KEY” WOULD HAVE BEEN TO ALLOW THE INFLOW OF GAS. THE SHADE IS DUSTY BUT IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION. IT FEATURES 8 BENT SLAG PANELS WITH AMAZING SWIRLS OF GREEN COLOR IN THE GLASS. THE SHADE IS UNIQUE BECAUSE THE DARKER GREEN PANELS ARE SLIMMER. THE SHADE HAS FANTASTIC GILT OVER BRASS OVERLAY WITH SOME WEAR TO THE ORIGINAL GOLD GILDING. IN THE 6TH PHOTO WE TRIED TO SHOW THE WONDERFUL CURVES IN THE GLASS. AGAIN THE LAMP HAS THE ORIGINAL CLOTH SHEETHED WIRE AND PLUG FROM THE 1910-20′S WHEN IT WAS ORIGINALLY CONVERTED. THERE ARE LIGHT FRAYS ON THE CLOTH. IN THE 11TH PHOTO YOU WILL SEE HOW THE LAMP SITS IN THE ORIGINAL RING ON THE GAS BASE. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE SHADE ON AND OFF THE LAMP YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE LIGHT BULBS AND LIFT THE RING UP AND OVER THE SOCKETS UNTIL IT IS FREE.
