THERE IS ONE SECTION OF THE BOTTOM THAT IS BROKEN IN TWO BUT IS MORE LIKE A HAIRLINE BREAK AND IS FAIRLY WELL HIDDEN BY THE OVERLAY BRASS. It has a very ornate design with great detail. It’s a good quality shade and is quite heavy for it’s size weighing in at nearly 9 lbs It’s in very good used condition w/ normal wear. There is no broken pieces in the filigree and the glass panels are in good used condition too If you take a look at the last pic (14) you’ll notice a fleur de lis at the top with each having a point in the center. Well, all the points were pushed in from the weight of the shade being placed on the top (the small end) instead of the bottom (the large end) when it was off the base. This is a great looking Bent Slag Glass Lamp by Chicago Empire Co. It stands 23 inches tall on it’s urn vase shaped sculpted 7 1/2 inch cast iron Base and weighs 18 pounds. The shade is the Empire “Morning Glory on Trellis” style and is 16 1/2 or 18 1/2 inches in diameter depending on measuring flats or corners. The apature is 3 3/8 inches. This is one stunning Chicago Empire Slag Lamp! Measures about 25 1/2 inches high. The shade is about 20 inches across, point to point, and 18 inches across, flat to flat. This is the most desirable of Chicago Empire Lamps, with Swans on the Verdi Green Base and Birds/Swallow filigree over the 16 paneled green/caramel slag glass panels. The lamp was professionally restored with several birds replaced. All panels were removed, carefully cleaned and reinstalled. The sockets work well and the wiring is in good condition. This is a really fine Bradley & Hubbard lamp with a Chicago Empire shade. They apparently made some shades for other companies. This is a heavy lamp weighing in at over 18 1/2 pounds. It stands 21 inches tall on its 7 1/2 inch finely scupted patinated brass base. The lamp is marked with the normal Bradley & Hubbard Triangle up by the sockets. The bottom of the base is also marked “M 99″. The Green Bent Slag glass has a fine complete overlay called the “Morning Glory on Trellis” by Empire and is 18 12 or 16 1/2 inches in diameter (depending or measuring flats or corners) and stands 7 inches tall.
