In the 18th century homes were primarily lit by candle light as oil lamps were quite costly to run. In the Victorian era few homes were electrified and some were even fitted with gas lines for flame driven lamps. Most homes relied on Kerosene lighting which were eventually replaced with electrified lamps. Caramel colored slag glass was the most popular in lamps because its the easiest on the eyes. We will not offer any lamp with cracked or repaired panels. We understand accidents happen but our clients desire only the best and thats what well bring them. The base and shade are heavily decorated with a plethora of crisp details in the casting. The lamp is 23 1/2″ tall with a 7 1/2″ diameter at the base and a diameter of 14 3/4 at the shade. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. C 1910 Mosaic Fruit theme leaded glass lamp. Lamp is 26 tall. Foot 6 each side. Shade 18 x 9. Truly all old shades have fractures if not it’s been corrected and If not with original glass will not show correctly so I prefer if they are line fracs tight in place not loss of glass I’ll choose the original glass. 2 vintage sockets period style cloth cord & plug. Bradley Hubbard Leaded Slag Glass Arts Crafts Vintage Antique Lamp Handel Era
Thats a huge savings overall for sure. I have for sale this excellent and properly signed Bradley and Hubbard lamp. This is a very nice looking and nicely designed arts and crafts geometric lamp. This lamp Is very large measuring in at 24 inches tall with the shade being 20 inches wide. The base with no breaks, cracks, or losses in the metalware and in fine working order. The base also in original patina and in very nice condition. The leaded shade also in very good overall condition and structurally sound throughout. The leading tight and right and the glass quality/coloration very good as you can see how nice this lights up in the photos. No glass loss and only a couple age lines here or there to be seen. I have to assume the base and shade have always been together for the past 100 years or so because they are nicely matching, as well as the total proportion of shade and base. Just all in all a great Bradley and Hubbard lamp thats super well made and in great arts and crafts form. Royal Glass was founded in 1898 and it burned to the ground on Thanksgiving Day 1903. One of the people who was a manager there (Jacob Rosenthal) later assisted with getting Fenton started. He was with Fenton from 1906 until he passed away in 1932. The base is in excellent condition for its age. Ryan’s Relics Auctions. Nice old lamp in great shape overall. Lamp was partially dismantled when we got it. Screws missing in the base and in the arms into the shade, and we replaced them. One small piece of molding missing in the inside of the shade that holds in one of the slag glass panels. Another molding is loose. NO damage to the stained glass. Not sure if this had a cap on the top of the shade, if so, its missing. Does appear to have the faded remnants of a makers mark on the bottom of the lamp base, but so faded cannot make it out. It was in the process of being restored by previous owner. The wire looks as though its a newer reproduction cloth wire with old hard rubber plug. Please inspect its carefully if going to use for safety. Measures approx 23″ in height, shade is 14.5″ square X 6 in height. Morgan & Sons Leaded Lamp, Slag, Stained Glass Shade, Arts Crafts, Handel Lamp Era
Up for consideration is a very nice and early Morgan & Sons leaded glass lamp. This is a great looking Morgan and very early. The lamp stands at 23 tall to the top of the finial. The shade is 15 in Diameter. The best about this lamp is the shade and base are not a marriage even tho most makers shades and bases are interchangeable. This shade and base are meant to be together on the day it was made. The Morgan base is very nice and all original with a nice bark brown patina with a pair of Harvey Hubbell sockets with original mica interiors and acorn pulls. The base has matching style Cabochons half round design matching the leaded shade. Morgan bases are rarer then there shades. Most Morgan shades you see for sell if you can find one will have a base from another maker. The Leaded shade is very nice 15 Dia with great color that really fires up as you can see. The skirt has the half round glass Cabochons that match the style of the base. There has been 4 panels that have been replaced. The repair looks to be very old and very well done. There are about 7 small heat cracks around the skirt of the shade most are in the half rounds. I took a lot of pictures which is part of the description. A hard to find lamp even with the repairs this is a amazing and rare Morgan. Any questions please ask.
